One thing you must do when traveling to Providence is see WATERFIRE. Waterfire is a night of bonfires lit in the Providence River at Waterplace park in downtown Providence. It is really had to explain. You have to experience it. They play classical music and burn incense. People ride in gondolas and the streets are blocked off for food and fun. It is a spiritual event.
