Sometimes it is nice to see what lies at the end of the road. Sakonnet Point is as far as the road takes you on the main route through Tiverton and LIttle Compton. Yes, there is a little harbor there and there used to be a restaurant and a hotel. Even some shops. Most of the area which was devastated by the hurricane of 1938 was never rebuilt. We the public are still waitng for a public park. The long awaited Sakonnet Point Club is under construction It's pretty at sunset..
Sunsets rule around here since we face to the west..Keep your sunglasses handy if you are driving, sailing, bycycling, even just hiking.. And enjoy! (don't forget sunscreen and bug spray for summer outings. They make life alot more comfortable..
Weetamo woods and the Reuker Refuge are two nice places to take a walk in Tiverton.. The Emilie Reuker Refuge is near the Sakonnet river and has lovely views of the water, and the Mt. Hope Bridge. Weetamo woods has some streams running through it, an old foundation for a mill, and a tall rock that can be climbed up over the tree line.. Local RI walking guides publish these walks..
Beautiful ride...lots of lovely homes. This one always catches my eye. What views they have. How bout we go to visit them and sit on their porch with a vodka/tonic?
