OK, when i was here, there was a lot of government corruption, and it was rumored the mayor of Providence had ties to organized crime. This would explain the bad shape of disrepair as well as crime Providence was in. While in East providence, trash was all in the streets and the homes looked as if they were falling apart. However, times do change, and it has been about 5 years since I have been there. If any of it has changed, please drop me a line and let me know.
There is a section of the Cliff Walk after the Breakers Mansion that is a coastal rockway. Although the rocks are large and flat walking on them still may be a little challenging. I would recommend that children in strollers, women in heels, and the elderly walk about 3 blocks on Bellevue Ave. until picking up the Cliff Walk again.
Great FIRE-WOOD here. Not in my yard. So, to make sure call the:DEPT. OF ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT!Check with them first. People, will complain and winder what your doing! As long as your not selling the wood, no problem! It took awhile for this OAK to fall! The other trees were holding it up! Then one night IT CRASHED!!
Avoid the man eating tree root in Providence! It's located at the John Brown house in the cellar and is notorious for having consumed the remains of Rhode Island founder, Roger Williams. For full details, visit the Travel Archive of my website and see Rhode Island (Touring the Ocean state) Spud's Travels
ninja turtle! take care of him! then the wind blows he's more dangerous than every known weapon! At least he provide you with the electric power needed by the boat systems... Having no engine on board it would be almost impossible to have lights, instruments and autohelm... unfortunately the power provided by ninja turtle was not enough for radio communication... having no engine on board every sunset we had to start that little noisy and stinxy generator for the time necessary to speak home....
