If your kids need a break from sightseeing and shopping in Wickford, try a trip to go candlepin bowling. Candlepin bowling is different from regular bowling in that it uses a smaller ball and smaller, narrower pins. As a result, it is much harder to get strikes and spares. To compensate, you get to roll three balls per frame instead of two.
Wickford Lanes is the local spot in the Wickford where you can try candlepin bowling. In additon to bowling, it also has a snack bar with snacks and sodas. Balls are provided, ad you can rent shoes, so you don't need to bring anything.

This is a very well known kayak centre. They will help you get started if you've never paddled before...but beyond that, they are knowledgeable in the area and will no doubt have the answers to your nautical questions.

Enlarge this pic and see that there are options for rentals. think most folks go for the kayaks, but there is quite a boating center here, and I think they could help you with any time of water activity you are interested in.

Start peddling! You'll find plenty of places to enjoy a good ride.. through the 1A strip...but better yet...turn on to the little side streets and get some good views of the water that surrounds you...as well as wonderful early American architecture. Better to see it on your bike.

Can't miss this Kayak Rental Centre in the middle of all the retail area of Wickford. It's on the waterfront at the confluence of the wetlands flowing into the cove on the south end of town...just next to the bridge.

A common sight around the village is to see folks carrying their kayak somewhere. Many nearby residents have their kayak ready to go on a moment's notice.....with so many coves and inlets to put down in.

You can rent a kayak if you don't own one or want to carry it along with you. These guys have obviously just come back from a bit of paddling and fishing.
