There were also a few murals in town. Most of them were nostalgic in subject matter. I liked these two the best.
Denmark has an artistic side as shown by these statues. There were several art galleries and places with these sculptures and marble fountains and things like that here.
On our way from Atlanta to Charleston, South Carolina we ventured through several off the Interstate towns. One of these towns was Denmark, South Carolina.

According to the sign the AT & T located in town was where the very first transcontinental telephone call was made in 1915 in a building which now houses fine antiques in The Caroline Collection.
The town is also home to a small 4 year liberal arts college. From what I remember there were a few stores on the main street through town, but being a Sunday afternoon in the South they were closed.
