Favorite thing: This massive stone structure rises boldly through the warm southern sky and dominates the skyline of historic Gaffney. Okay, it's actually just a runt of a building, but it is the tallest one I saw in Gaffney. It's not often that a city's two water towers are both taller than its tallest buildings.
Favorite thing: Along Interstate 85, you'll see this impressive water tower called the Peachoid as you pass by Gaffney. Incidentally, South Carolina actually produces more peaches than Georgia, despite the fact that its southern neighbor is known as the Peach State and SC's moniker is the Palmetto State. There is even an annual Peach Festival in Gaffney. For more information, check out www.scpeachfestival.org.
Favorite thing: Final Exam (1981) was partially filmed at Limestone College in Gaffney.
A killer stands between college students and their final exam in this slow-paced slasher movie. Not a great film by any standards, however it is moderately enjoyable. It may be that it only holds my interest because of where it was filmed.
I was unable to find a copy on DVD. I found a used VHS version on Amazon.com.
Fondest memory: I watched this movie many times during my visits to Gaffney.
