From May to October there is the possibility you will see turtles either coming ashore to lay their eggs, or the little ones trying for the water when they hatch. They have strict rules about lights on the beach and such, but it is terribly exciting to actually see a laying mother turtle...

Some houses for rent on Harbor come with a golf cart for cruisin the roads around the island.....You can spot birds and alligators in the marshy areas, go to the pool, or just enjoy the breeze while puttering around at 15 MPH.
Blue bottle trees seem to be in the fashion.....

Located on Harbor Island, behind the outdoor clothing store, Island Surf Clothing---the only option for dining out on Harbor Island---good fried seafood platters, a nice bar and kind of a good view---low tide when we were there.....
They have music some nights-------

A small roadside stand which has remarkably lots of needed items----the nearest grocery store is on Lady Island about 15 miles away, so this is real handy---they even have beer and wine, fresh eggs, fish. shrimp, fresh vegetables and even ice cream. Stop in if on Harbor for supplies for your rental.

T shirts, hats, sunscreen, and other beach necessities all under one roof---really the only shopping on the island is this 3 shop mini strip.
Toys, souveneers, and more with beach music playing in the background.
Originally a hunting camp in the 50's.
