I took these pictures from the Museum tour trolley.
Charley's Crab is actually a part of Muer's Restaurants - there a couple of Charley's Crab restaurants in Florida, and some in New Jersey in addition to this one in SC.
We didn't see what the location of this restaurant was until we took the museum tour on the next to last day. It is up by the bridge end of the island, and our condo was at the opposite end of the island, so we just didn't get up here to eat.
Their website says:"The restaurant's interesting motif includes artist fabricated lighting fixtures from Israel, two large canvas murals entitled "Crab By Day" and "Crab By Night" painted by Moscow artists working out of the Barney Judge studios, four artistic railings sculpted by medallist Ganzalas Rodriguez using ship refuse, and mosaic tile walls formed with Italian glass and gold leaf tiles. Outside the main entrance guests will cross a wooden bridge and retention pond where a large copper sculpture of a crab has been erected by award winning medallist Alex Poerbe.
The newest Charley's Crab accommodates guests with seating indoors in three dining rooms and outdoors on an open-air deck and two screened-in porches.
In developing the menu, our chef utilizes as many of the local food products available as possible. Hilton Head and the surrounding area has such an abundance of fresh seafood like the shrimp off the docks of the Benny Hudson Seafood Ships, fresh trout from Hoover Farms and garden fresh produce from the Farmer's Market in Savannah. Delicious is the word to describe our experience at Steamer. We had great food, great weather live music and a picture to remember the whole thing by!
We all started off with Calamari as an appetizer. It was fresh and tasted great. My mom had the house cabernet which was excellent and I had a glass of the house chardonnay which was delicous and refreshing. For dinner, my sister and I ate a pound of crabs each...it was amazing but I thought we would explode from the shear volume of the whole thing. We actually took food home and spread cream cheese on thin crackers and laid the crab on the top for appetizer's the next night. We had the Shecrab soup which was wonderful. The whole night we were fortunate to listen to Todd Cowart, who did a great job at keeping us entertained. At the end of the night, we even got our pic taken to remember the experience. The ambience was the best, there is seating inside but outside is where you want to be. The atmosphere is hard to describe. Check back for pictures

This restaurant just opened, so I have not yet sampled a wide variety of their menu, but what I have tasted will bring me back frequently. Both proprietors are consumate professionals well know locally. It's a smallish, intimate place, very nicely decorated and inviting. Ther is a small bar and inside and outside dining. It has a very friendly feel.
Cayfish appetizer melts in your mouth. Steamed clams are small and tender. The Lakehouse is a casual and friendy restaurant located inside the Plantion Club and overlooking the Marsh and Ocean golf courses. The service and the food was excellent and is a great place to have a relaxing lunch as it is away from the hustle and bustle of a tourist town. Only open for breakfast and lunch as it mainly caters to the golf courses.
Nothing really special but what is served is very well done and presented nicely. Typical lunches that include the usual salads, sandwiches, and pizzas. Salads include a grilled chicken, caesar, chef, tuna, or egg etc.Sandwiches are the usual, B.L.T.,Club, Reuben, Burgers, etc.
I had a Portobello and Spinach wrap that was excellent. It was a portobello mushroom grilled with sauteed spinach, roasted red pepers and feta cheese with a side of fresh fruit. The Old Oyster Factory is a wonderful and fun way to enjoy island fares. Ask for a window seat and treat yourself to watching the locals harvesting endless beds of oysters! During the warmer months, stroll out on the back deck to get a closer look! The feature is oysters in just about every way you can imagine along with a variety of other yummy seafood and meat dishes.
Raw, Oysters Rockerfeller and Oysters Savannah are amongst my favorites. They also have a great crab leg special during their happy hours that's always a treat. Leave a Comment

This restaurant was adjacent to our hotel/condo. My overall opnion of this place is that it is convenient if you are staying at the hotel next door. I wouldn't recommend seafood here. Its more a place to go for drinks and pizza, burgers, etc. I would go back to this place to grab a frozen drink and eat burger but I wouldn't recommend it as a "seafood restaurant". The VIEW is amazing here as you can watch the sea from every table and you are outside. Every night they have live music. NOTE the bar closes at like 9:30!! So get there early with a deck of cards, sip a pina colada and relax!
We got the calamari which was not fresh, I got the peel and eat shrimp which weren't impressive and my sister got the coconut shrimp, which was TINY. The food quality and sizes were not worth the price.

This is a great place for Happy Hour, appetizers, full dinner and great beers! It's located in Coligny Plaza and surrounded by a plethera of other local shops and island treats. Great prices and a huge variety of combination dinners for every palate. A wonderful way to enjoy beers of the world with their "country buckets". These feature a collection of local and european beers that are really fun to explore!
We always start with fresh oysters on the half-shell, then a nice big tray of cajun-style crawfish. The Dufuski island crab cakes are a must, along with their "buffalo bites". For a full dinner, try their specialty "Steamers Platter" which features either one or two lobsters, clams, mussels, crawfish and shrimp. This is to DIE for!! In Sea Pines, so you have to pay a toll to get in to eat there. I have not eaten here, but it reportedly has a good view of the water.
Review says: "This is one of the best places to watch Hilton Head's famed sunsets. A typical menu of burgers, fried shrimp, crab cakes, pasta with seafood, and peel and eat shrimp is available, but we recommend sticking to a light appetizer to nibble with your drink while you watch the sun go down and listen to music on the patio.
