Overall, this restaurant was a welcoming first stop on Hilton Head Island. We enjoyed the decor and style of the restaurant. It is very beachy-casual and above all else, kid friendly. The view from the outdoor tables was spectacularly calming and soothing. As we ate on the balcony, our view was of a grassy bay area with two big old shrimp boats anchored near. Not far from our table was the restaurant playground. This made mealtime very enjoyable and we think it is a great idea to attract parents.
We shared the Broiled Seafood platter with a Caesar salad. It was pretty good. I thought the scallops were a little, a very little, over cooked but my husband said his where like butter. However, don't order from the children's menu. My children ordered the fish and chips kid's meal and it was the worst fish ever. My four year old spit his fish (lightly battered fried) into his napkin. After tasting his fish we also found it bland, and the meat of the fish flavorless. My husband and I spent the rest of the evening trying to figure out how the cooks completely drained the flavor from the fish. I'm sure this was done on purpose with meaningful intentions (most kids like bland dishes, I think) but my children are flavor snobs, so they could not stomach the fish. So, if can, order from the main menu for your children. Take note: the Price Per Person is more on the $20 end of the range. We saved the $5 entry fee at Harbor Towne and used it toward the Jarvis Creek meal.Website: www.thecrazycrab.com

Their Napkin by doolemma If when you are in a tourist town and you follow all the other tourists to the must see places, then this is one of them. It would not be on my agenda to return. Crowds, so-so service, and ordinary food that was slightly overpriced. Some people love this type of place and return, I would not.
We had thre Bar-B-Que shrimp that were so overdone that they wouldn't even come off the skewer. We also had the Seafood stir fry that really could have passed for a vegetarians dish. Very little seafood and for a $15.26(odd price) dish. The BBQ shrimp cost $17.06. What odd pricing. This place had the best island views we found on our whole trip. The restaurant is right on the water. Get there before sunset for the best views. The menu was quite extensive, and the food was great. The she crab soup was the best I had while on Hilton Head.
She Crab soup; very creamy, lots of potent flavor Leave a Comment Theme: AmericanPrice: US$11-20 » Currency ConverterComparison: about averageAddress: Harbour TownPhone: 843-671-3399Directions: Right beside the lighthouse in Harbour Town (south end of Hilton Head in Sea Pines Plantation)Website: http://www.waterfrontcafehhi.net

Having my two nephews (2 and 4) with us, it is not the easiest task to find a place to go out to dinner with them (one tends to throw stuff on the floor). So, the Salty Dog Cafe it was. Opon arrival, we discovered lots of other families with the same idea and a 20 minute wait. The Salty Dog has a solution for that - a tee shirt factory and store. Due to the location (Sea Pines Resort) there tends to be mostly tourists at the Salty Dog.
The Wreck serves lots of seafood - and a great portion of which is fried. I had a salad which was not very good. They do have a fairly extensive kids menu. Leave a Comment
