    Hunting Island Lighthouse

    Beautiful Lighthouse inside the park-----
Originally constructed in 1859, this incarnation was rebuilt after the civil war around 1875 and is the only Lighthouse in South Carolina open to the public---$2 fee to climb the 167 steps, but worth the climb for the view!
    March-October open 10-4:45

There is a nice boardwalk out into the marsh on the main road crossing Hunting Island----you dont have to pay to go into the Park to see this---there is a small parking area, then just walk out over the marsh---there is a fishing/crabbing dock at the end of the walk on the tidal creek...easy walking, better in the early morning or late in the afternoon (can be hot!)
