    Park and take the trolley around downtown Charleston. Then take a carriage ride. After good eats. Take a walking tour. We rode our seadoos in some places.
    This is my teenage son that is fearless. I wouldn't fall in to that brackish water with them gators for nothing. The locals say they don't bother you. But I never did care for that water.

    Carriage tours are fun. Bryan and I took a Ghost Walk tour in the evening last time were there. It was scarey oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
    You always feel like your going back in time when your in Charleston. There are still old generations all over from basket weavers to the families that used to own the plantations.

    Many people go to Isle of Palms so they do not have to stay in Charleston. Don't get me wrong, Charleston is an excellent destination. Absolutely spend the money and take a horse and carriage tour. You will not be disappointed. Don't be afraid to haggle on the price. There are tons of tour companies all trying to get your business.

    Our family has spent two 4th of July weekends at Isle of Palms. When dusk comes everyone settles in on the beach in their beach chairs and waits for the firework show. The bars on the beach face the speakers towards the beach and you will hear good dance music before the show. You may even spot some people dancing the local beach dance, the Shag. The shag is sort of like a slow jitterbug. The fireworks show is excellent. For a laid back 4th of July weekend, this is the place to be.
