Buffalo Things to Do
Buffalo Historic District
Buffalo is a small town in Northwest South Dakota. It has a population of just over 300 and is the county seat of Harding County. It is located on US Highway 85. Buffalo has a small historic district with a few buildings of historic and/or architectural interest. I did not find the county courthouse.Related to:

Buffalo What to Pack
Luggage and bags: You need the same type of bag that you would for camping/hiking.
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: The summers here are hot, and the winters are cold. I suggest shorts, t-shirts, and jeans for summer, a light coat for at night, and a hat to keep the sun off your face in the summer. In the winter, you will need a pair of insulated coveralls, gloves, warm boots, a stocking cap, and a warm place to stay.
Toiletries and Medical Supplies: Keep insect spray on hand. Also bandages and such in case of a fall. Basicly, hiking supplies. In the winter, keep blankets and a winter survival kit in your vehical at all times. The weather can change in the blink of an eye.
Photo Equipment: Stock up on batteries for your camera. The nearest place to really shop is 70 miles away. Disposable cameras work fine in the outdoors. You really don't need fancy equipment unless you want high quality pictures.
Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: There are many Nation Parks and State Parks to choose from. Both are tent and camper friendly. You need to check the fire hazard daily. Sometimes it is too dry for a campfire.
Miscellaneous: Bring your own toilet paper. Sometimes the outhouses are out. Remember to pack canteens for water.
A must when visiting Buffalo...
Favorite thing: A must when visiting Buffalo is to take a trip on Highway 20 to the Slim Buttes. There, a person can see the 'castles', rock formations that resemble castles. They will take your breath away.
Fondest memory: The thing I miss most when I am away from Buffalo is the natural beauty of the land. Everyday is like living in a masterpiece.
