I showed up and paid for this tour around 1:30pm. This was to get on the 3pm tour. We missed being able to see things to be on this tour. Only to show up and find out that they had sold 40 tickets to get on a bus that only holds 23 people. Now over booking by 2 or 3 is one thing. But by 17? They only took cash. I did get a refund. Don't count on being able to get on this bus!

Hmmmm, look at this sign. This bar claims IT is the location where Wild Bill Hickock was shot. Did you think it was the Number 10 Saloon? Well, it was, but when the Number 10 Saloon burned down, it was rebuilt at a new location. This bar now sits on the site of the original Number 10 Saloon where Wild Bill was actually killed. I hope I have not thoroughly confused you!
Unique Suggestions: You may have seen that I placed the Number 10 on a Things to Do tip. Well the Number 10 is still an interesting place, with its historic photos and fun re-enactment of the murder of Wild Bill, but just be aware that you are not really standing on the location where Bill was killed.

You don't need a guide. You can walk the town your self. Everything is walking distance. There's enough brochures to give you the history etc.. on the town. Visit the visitors center at the train station for town info.

Wonderland Cave. It's just south of Deadwood. It's an okay place, but for those, like me, expecting a nice cave tour like Wind Cave or Jewel Cave, it ain't so. :oP
It's a kind of long drive on dirt road, sometimes pretty bumpy, and all you do is basicly go in and come right back out.
Don't get me wrong, it's kinda neat, but don't expect alot.

WALL DRUG! WALL DRUG! WALL DRUG! I found absolutely notjing there worth buying,
and the food was below par and over priced. The help wasn't all that friendly -- it's just the BIGGEST tacky souvenir shop -- that doesn't raise it one bit in quality.
