  • Basketball at the Scherr Howe Arena

On my business trip to Mobridge, South Dakota I took in a couple of high school basketball games. The games I saw were on a Tuesday and Friday night. I was amazed, coming from Chicago that one team traveled 3 hours and over 120 miles in winter snow just to get here. The arena is very unique as I hope these photos show. • Hiking in Badlands

We climbed up a few areas in the Badlands and went on a short hike on Notch Trail. Bring PLENTY of water, a hat, sunscreen and if you plan on going on a longer hike, I would bring a compass and good map. Watch out for rattle snakes.

  • Pheasant Hunting

Pheasant hunting is a big deal in East River South Dakota. Unfortantley the state has raised the cost of hunting licenses for non residents and put a time limit of ten days per license. The are still a lot of people who come hunting every year. From the third weekend in October until Mid November, it is a good idea to check ahead for motel rooms....
