The Monkey House at the Bramble Park Zoo

The Bramble Park Zoo is a nice place to visit. It contains a few neat exhibits, (the Kangaroo and bird exhibits are particularly good.) and several that are hard to find in some other zoos, such as: a Condor and a White Tiger. Its a nice place to walk around and is laid out well. If you go to Watertown be sure to check it out!

Very beautiful oil paintings. The paintings are all quite large. The theme is country life and outdoors. Terry Redlin is the South Dakota version of Currier & Ives. He used to sell his paintings when he was first starting out but then he decided to keep them and have prints made from them. He is trying to buy back many of his first paintings. Some of his early works include Federal duck stamps and magazine covers. Admission is free to the museum. They are adding new pictures as he paints them. They recently opened the second floor of the building for paintings.
There is a gift shop just inside the front door that sells prints of his paintings. They come in many different sizes and framed or unframed. The prints start at about $75 and go up to several hundred $. They do have plates and other stuff with the pictures on them for less money.
Hours of Operation:
Monday – Friday: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Saturday: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Sunday: 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The Redlin Art Center extends its Saturday and Sunday hours to 5 p.m. every weekend from Memorial Day through Labor Day.

Many Choices, Watertown

BLSM Says:  There are many motels along Hwy 212 going through Watertown. Serveral Motel Chains at the Interstate 29 exchange. The older motels closer to the center of the strip are cheaper but not as many amenties. The Drake Motor Inn is an example of this. Some will give you a special...

Senior Max's: The best I've had anywhere

I live in Minneapolis now, but grew up near Watertown and it is always a treat to be able to go back to Senior Max's to eat. The food is good, service ok, cost is very reasonable - fast food is possibly more expensive if you exclude the tip.

Favorite Dish: Hard shell tacos and nachos grande - it's just the best tacos around

This Resturant is located next to one of the Watertown Livestock Sale Barns. One day a week they are very busy,(sale day). The rest of the time still busy but not so crowded. Real good every day food, large servings, reasonably priced.
this picture was taken on the evening of sale day. You can see the sale barn behind the cafe.

Lake Kampeska is the water that gave Watertown it's name. It is used for boating fishing and ice fishing and snowmobling in the winter. There are many really fancy house built along its shores.
This view is from beside the Lake Shore Supper Club. It is not a cheap place to eat but the steaks are really good.

Enterance to Bramble Park Zoo

Favorite thing: Bramble Park Zoo is on Highway 20 heading north from the intersecption of highway 212. It is a good stopping stop to take kids. Nothing great but it has picnic areas and a playground. At Christmas time the trees are usually decorated.
