  • Durty Nelly's is the closest thing to an authentic pub in this area. It has a great beer selection and is a cozy fun place to hang out.
    Closed Mondays.

This is the ONLY place to have Tapas in Southeast Tennessee. It serves a variety of International Cuisine — from Spain, Italy, France, etc. The Wine Bar is fabulous and the ambience is great. They only stay open til 11 so it is a good late night date spot. They also have wine tastings and cooking classes outlined on the website.

Casual but fashionable (for Chattanooga anyway)

  • Chattanooga in the past has had the reputation that it is not a good city for nightlife. However, I believe that it is getting better, although still not comparable to larger cities. There are only 3 good dance clubs that I know about, not counting those that cater specifically to non-heterosexuals. Voodoo is the only one of these 3 downtown, located at 4th and Market, which I have heard is pretty good. The Drink, located on Brainerd Road beside Chili's Restaurant, has been there for several years. Lastly, the Electric Cowboy is another new club very close to the Drink. It is located in the Eastgate Town Center beside the YMCA.

If bars and lounges is what you want, then you have plenty to choose from all around town. There are several good ones downtown, on Brainerd Road, and in other areas of town. The Tortilla Factory downtown has an open-air Rooftop Bar with dancing that is okay too. All clubs and bars must close by 3.

  • By michaelalfano on February 11, 2009

  • The Comedy Catch
Twenty Three Years of Stand-up Comedy in Chattanooga!

It was May of 1985 when The Comedy Catch debuted as Chattanooga's first full time comedy club, then located in Dr. Sages atop the Holiday Inn downtown. One year later the club moved to its present Brainerd Road location and was renamed The Comedy Catch at the Cafe.

In its history The Comedy Catch has hosted some of the biggest stars in comedy. Names such as: Jerry Seinfeld, Jeff Foxworthy, Tommy Chong, Paula Poundstone, Richard Jeni, Bobby Collins, Carrot Top, James Gregory, Pauly Shore, Bobcat Goldthwait and many others. In addition to national talent, The Comedy Catch stage has launched many local careers, and is considered one of the best venues in the south by many of the regional favorites.

Management at the club strives for all to have an entertaining evening, whether you are attending our weekly comedy shows or one of our special shows. Through the years The Comedy Catch has presented a variety of entertaining programs; comedy shows for the hearing impaired, shows for day care teachers, recovering alcoholics, just women, a show for the gay community, Christian Comedy Shows and a long list of charity events.
