Cheeburger Cheeburger (in the lower left corner) by RonaaRoo Cheeburger Cheeburger (no, I didn't misspell it) is a great little diner-type resturant in downtown Chattanooga. Their specialty is Cheeseburgers (obviously), and they even have a burger so big, if you eat all of it yourself, they'll take a picture of you and put it on the wall! I wasn't that brave, so I got the burger that is 2 sizes smaller. It was still huge! The service was friendly, and it was a great experience!
Cheeseburgers! You can get as many toppings at your like for FREE (excluding the cheese)....try Guacamole on your burger, it's actually pretty good! The Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre is a unique experience that everybody will enjoy, even people like me who normally don't like such things. I was talked into coming here for my birthday, but ended up liking it. They currently have 4 different shows, each playing once or twice a week on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. We went to the Redneck-Italian Wedding, which was very funny dispite the emphasis on stereotypes. The audience members are active participants, with a few actually getting to speak and come on stage. The characters all go around and talk to the audience members throughout the show. At the end you get to vote on who you think committed the murder. It is definitely worth the time and money, and especially good for kids. Kids always get in for $12, but adult prices vary between $19 and $24.50, depending on the show and time. See the website or call them for shows, times, and prices, reservations are required.
Dinner here is a small buffet consisting of salad, baked ziti, pasta primavera, italian meatballs, and garlic rolls. The food is not the best italian food out there, but its not bad either. The dessert, however, is chocolate cake with raspberry sauce, and it was delicious. The Gardens Restaurant is one of four dining choices at the Chattanooga ChooChoo. I have only been here a few times, but I have always been very satisfied with the food and service. The atmosphere is pleasant, and the food is inexpensive. Not many locals dine here since its part of the hotel, but they are missing out on a great thing that many tourists get to enjoy. Make sure to take a stroll through the gardens outside, especially in spring and summer. Also, the cafe nextdoor serves delicious desserts and coffee drinks. There is also a bar on the opposite side of the lobby, and out back there is another restaurant on the diner cars of an old train.
I used to always get the Market Street salad, but I learned on my last visit here that it had been replaced on the menu for another salad that was exactly the same but it had turkey instead of grilled chicken. I do not remember what this other salad is called, but you can substitute anything on these salads, including the meat. So I still got my Market Street salad. The buffet is what a lot of people get here, but I am yet to have tried it. Bea's by anderschwan Bea's has been cooking for over 50 years. There's one price, $7.50 for all you can eat. Food is served family style on a large circular table. The servers bring heaping bowls of food and place them on the Lazy Susans where you help yourself to food and iced tea(sweet tea - that's how it is down south). To drink, if you want anything other than water or tea, you have to get it from the vending machine. Hours are 11:00 AM - 8:00 PM Wednesday through Sunday. Closed on Monday and Tuesday.

I just recently ate here for the first time, and I liked it much better than Kampai Tokyo japanese steakhouse. The food was different than other oriental restaurants I've been to. They used more seasoning and had more types of sauces to choose from. The best part about the Ichiban, however, was the show done by the chefs. This was also better than the other ones I've been to. The chef performed tricks such as spinning the spatula around a single finger, spinning an egg and then flipping it into the air repeatedly and finally on top of his hat. The most impressive part of the show was when the chef separated an onion into rings of different sizes, stacked them on top of each other in the shape of a cone, and then poured oil inside and lit it on fire so that it looked like a volcano exploding. When the fire went out, the onion cone smoked for about 30 more seconds just like a volcano does after it blows. It was really neat! The sign out front says they have the best chefs in town, and I believe they are right. I also recently just went to the other new japanese steakhouse called Shogun, which is located on Gunbarrel Road. The food here was also great, but the show, although good, was slightly less exciting. Also, the rice had a unique flavor that I didn't care for, so I had to use lots of soy sauce to make it taste good. This is by far the best Thai restaurant I've ever been to. I couldn't believe such a wonderful place exists in the Buckle of the Bible Belt. The owner is very friendly, remembers everyone by name, and the food - well it's the absolute Bomb! You must try Thai Smile 3!
The Pad Kee Mao is a great starting point for those unfamiliar with Thai Cuisine. The green curry - well it is excellent. If you really want to go all out, try the Ginger Fish. Chattanooga Sushi by anderschwan I can't brag enough about Sekisui. The Sushi is excellent, the ginger dressing on the salad is to die for, and the service is great. If you like sushi - this is it.

Amigo's is a locally owned and operated family restaurant with the best authentic Mexican food in the city, maybe even the best outside of Mexico. The atmosphere is great, with televisions around so everyone can see at least one (normally has sports on), traditional Mexican music playing in the background, and beer and margaritas for those who wish to have alcohol (It is nothing like a bar and is a great place for families despite this). The only thing better than the food is the service and the prices. Most dinner entrees are between $5 and $7, and the portions are large enough to satisfy even the hungriest appetites. When I am in town I eat here at least once every other week, most often more.
I normally get a couple of enchiladas with mexican rice, beans, and a taco or chalupa. However, I guarantee that no matter what you order, it will be some of the best Mexican food you can get anywhere. Unfortunately, Amigo's does not have a location in the downtown area. However, all four locations are between 5 and 15 minutes away and are pretty easy to find. The closest location to downtown is at 1906 Dayton Blvd., slightly north of the city. The next is located at 3805 Ringgold Road in the Osborne Center in East Ridge. The third is at 5794 Brainerd Road in the Brainerd Village shopping center near EastGate Town Center. The fourth, and furthest from the city, is located at 5450 Highway 153, which is near Northgate Mall in Hixson. If you wish to eat here while visiting Chattanooga, you could ask for directions from someone at your hotel or look them up in the phone book and call for directions. Nagoya is a tiny sushi bar with a large seleciton. There are over fifty Chinese and Japanese dishes to choose from, and about 20 different sushi rolls, all made as you order. The soup is also excellent! Great food, service, and atmosphere. There are only two oriental restaurants downtown (ThaiSmile 3 and Sekisui), both of which I havent been to yet. If you feel like making a short trip away from downtown for some great food, don't miss this place. The place is very small, casual, and relaxing, and best of all, it is never full. You never have to wait to be seated here, even on friday and saturday nights, and the food is ready fast.
I love to get the teriyaki beef with fried rice and hot and sour soup. Although I'm not into sushi myself, everyone i know that is says they have the best is town. Sticky Fingers Restaurant by soundsgoodtome Sticky Fingers has grown from the dream of three Chattanooga natives into one of the top chain restaurants in the South. Anyone who likes ribs and barbecue will be in heaven! The atmosphere is nice and relaxing and the service is excellent. Sticky Fingers is located downtown at 420 Broad Street in Jack's Alley, just a few blocks from the aquarium. There is also another location on Hamilton Place Blvd. in front of Hamilton Place Mall. It is visible from Interstate-75 and can be reached from exit 4 or 5.
The sticky potato skins, although just an appetizer, has always been my favorite dish. With a salad it is enough to fill up most people and is cheaper than most entrees. However, I do not know a single person who has ever not liked anything they have ordered here.
