Fire House Grill: Just OK BBQ - Good for a Change

    Fire House Grill

Lunch is a good time to stop by the Fire House Grill. There is an antique fire truck out front, and a full-on smoker too! Now a take-out only establishment, you order inside (there is a little, tiny mini-mart too), then take your grub outside where you can eat on one of the picnic benches. No bathrooms (a problem if, like us, you are coming out of a morning's hike in Fall Creek Falls and would like to wash your hands). One refill on the fountain drinks.

Favorite Dish: The food was fast , but just OK. The meat was very tender; the sauce was just ok. I don't think it was homemade. I think I've been spoiled by Bar-B-Cutie...

  • Fire House Grill (BBQ place Fall Creek Falls): Horrible Food Rude Owners

by Mkelsey Written Jul 7, 2012

We were greeted (no greeting) by a rude person. We ordered 4 pulled pork sandwiches. We started eating and within the first bite we were horrified by the salt! We thought there must have been a mishap in the kitchen, so we told them, they were so rude. They acted like we were crazy, "that's how we do it here, give me those sanwiches, and I'll eat them for dinner tonight"! We left the food in the table, and since you pay when you order we had to pay or dinner twice that night. By the water ate next door at nana & papas, great burger and ice cream!

    Favorite Dish: Fries were okay.

  • Fall Creek Falls Inn Restaurant: Stay away from the Memorial Day Buffet

by pctruegrits Written May 30, 2011

My family was the first in line to be served at the Memorial Day buffet which was supposed to open at 11 a.m. The buffet opened fifteen minutes late. Don't do this if you are in a hurry.

We had read glowing reviews about how great the food was at this place. It seemed like a must do while we were in the park. To the folks who wrote a review on April 4, 2011, I did not have your wonderful experience. The banana pudding was not like mama used to make. The pudding was too sugary and tasted like it had divinity candy in it instead of merange.

The bar-b-que was dry and lacked a hickory smoked taste. Good pulled pork bar-b-que is supposed to be moist and tender. This was not. I was very disappointed in the bar-b-que.

The corn on the cob was dried out as were the brownies.

The hamburgers were cold and you had to reach into the hamburger bun bag to get a bun. There was no way to melt cheese on the hamburger. When we asked out server about this, she offered to put the hamburger in the microwave for us.

This place does not live up to hipe. It recommend that you picnic rather than eat here.

    Favorite Dish: none

The Dining Room at Fall Creek Inn: A Great Choice for Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner

    by Stephen-KarenConn Updated Apr 4, 2011

Erin, Jeromy & Karen at Fall Creek Inn/ Restaurant

The dining room at Fall Creek Inn is not only a great choice for your meals in the park, it's the only choice - unless you bring a picnic or cook at your cabin or campsite. We loved eating here, not only for the sumptous food, but also for the great view overlooking Fall Creek Lake.

Favorite Dish: The Fall Creek Restaurant offers a splendid buffet three times a day. Food choices are varied, delicious and reasonably priced. There is a seafood buffet on Friday evenings, and at other times you will find huge piles of traditional southern dishes including chicken, fish, pork, beef, veggies, and even real honest-to-God banana pudding, as good as my Mama used to make.

Fall Creek Falls Restaurant: Fall Creek Falls Restaurant at Fall Creek Falls

    Fall Creek Falls Restaurant

Unless you bring in picnic supplies, your options for food are limited here, so it's a good thing the Fall Creek Falls Restaurant is so good! We opted for the buffet for the three meals we had there - lunch was expansive and included a carving station with three meats; dinner had wonderful salad fixings and fried shrimp - breakfast had a plentitude of fresh fruit, cereals, bacon, biscuits & gravy, and even had french toast sticks! There was a lot on the buffet, all was fresh, and the prices were inexpensive, ranging from $6.95 - 10.95 per person, plus beverage.

Favorite Dish: The carved roast turkey was wonderful at lunch, and I LOVED the french toast sticks at breakfast.
