mcCreary's irish pub: irish music in tennessee!

by susiemargare Updated Feb 27, 2005

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

this is an irish pub that is open from 11-11 on weekdays and saturdays. on friday and saturday nights from 9-11, they have irish music (no cover charge).

the food is great, esp the fish and chips, which has very LARGE pieces. they also have an excellent selection of beers, which come in a BIG glass.

the pub is small, so getting there early to listen to the music is advised.

Dress Code: casual is fine. the floor is wood, so i don't recommend barefoot (splinters!).

This is an increadible thing the city does every year. Since Franklin was host for the civil war city of Battle at Pinkerton, there are ghosts to be seen, also in the old Plantation Mansions. Good way to get your family looking over their shoulder! Ghosts and Gore tour of downtown Franklin and will be leading the Carnton tours, dressed in their period costumes complete with hoop skirts. Dates for this winter's tours are January 28, February 11, March 11 and April 8. The cost is $20 per person. Tours include a stop at the McGavock cemetery, weather permitting. To set up your tour, call Margie Thessin at 794-0903 or email Margie@Carnton.org.

Dress Code: depending on the time of year, casual.
