  • Ben and Jerry's: We all scream for ice cream!

To me going to Ben and Jerry's was one of the highlights of our trip. I know they have many stores, but none where I live. This was my first time eating their ice cream at a shop and it was all I thought it would be. And the prices were not outrageous compared to the cost of everything else.

Favorite Dish: My favorite flavor was the brownie batter. Yum! Tasted just like brownie batter. Also had a good flavor that tasted like an almond joy candy bar. Forgot the name of that one

    Lazy Susan with breakfast

The Burning Bush is a Gatlinburg classic. Their breakfast just can't be missed though. Breakfast is served with a lazy susan full of fresh fruits, muffins, and A house specialty juice. There menu is diverse for a breakfast menu. But my recommendation is the Burning Bush bountifuls. Comes with all you can eat sides and your choice of meat.

Favorite Dish: Burning Bush Bountiful w/Canadian Bacon

This is a great new addition to the Gatlinburg area. It has great food, and even has a fireplace inside for those cold days in the winter.

Favorite Dish: Wonderful sandwiches and bread. Good place to stop by and get bagels to take back to your cabin or hotel room for tomorrow morning or a late night snack.

    Apple Barn

Just a few miles from Gatlinburg is a really nice farmhouse restaurant called the Apple Barn. It is a really fun place to eat and there are gift shops. You never leave hungry. They start you off with apple fritters and apple sause. Then you have your salad, and your main course. Desert comes with all the meals and if you are too full to eat yours they will box it up for you to take home. I always look forward to returning again on my next visit.

Favorite Dish: I LOVE THE APPLE FRITTERS AND APPLE SAUSE.

It is nice in the winter time to get out in the cold and go to the Log Cabin Pancake House and sit by the warm fire while you enjoy your breakfast.

Favorite Dish: At Log Cabin Pancake House they have all different kind of pancakes. I like the ones that have fried bananas and coconut on top sprinkled with powered sugar. Pour warm syrup on top and enjoy. They also have great thick bacon.

Our favorite restaurant is the Pancake Pantry, located right on 'the main drag' in the center of town. The open around 6:00am and serve through 4:00pm I think. Don't head out to this place when you're already hungry. There's almost always a long line to be seated, which proves what a great place it is to eat. Prices are competitive with the area.

It seems like there is a pancake house on every corner in Gatlinburg. I'm not a huge fan of pancakes, but my son loves them, so we always eat breakfast at one of the pancake houses while we're there.

If you've never had sausage and biscuits with gravy, this is the place to try them! Some of the best good 'ol down home cookin in the world can be found in Gatlinburg.

One of the best places we ate was the Applewood Farmhouse Restaurant.
Good service (rare in the turist area of Gatlinburg). The complex has a creamery, candy factory, and winery....all to explore after your meal!!

Favorite Dish: The food was great!! I had a veggie plate...but others ate Chicken Fried Steak. Yum Yum! The apple fritters were addictive......and so were the buscuits!!! I wish I could've saved room for some apple cobbler!!!

They have been in business since 1960. The staff is extremly friendly. They also have a killer lunch menu.

Favorite Dish: French Toast: Thick french toast, served with a cinnamon syrup that is unreal.

Morning Star: Hash Browns, topped with cheese, a fried egg, onions, pimentos, mushrooms, ham and green peppers. I also add a touch of Tabasco for a little kick. Comes with toast or 3 pancakes.
