Fun in a barrel.... for like five minutes

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

I've lived here for three long years, and let me tell you.... this place is great, for retirement.

Every teenager around here will agree with me when I say, there is nothing to do here. The Kids Kingdom park is fun. It's got slides. It's got sand. It's got swings. It's got everything kids could want... I'm pretty sure it's not kids that take road trips though, so if you are a grown adult, don't expect much except for a pretty view of the water fountain and the lake.

    Looking at Christmas lights

In the Winter months, it's worth a relaxing drive to look at Christmas lights. Lights are very popular here, and, in some subdivisions, it seems everyone has lights up. Of course, some other subdivisions do nothing at all.

I put up a ton of lights this Christmas (Dec 2005)--10,000 bulbs, wow!

Even so, the display looked sparse. But then again, I put the lights up here and there across probably five acres of land.

Just 3 miles away is the largest display in Hendersonville--it's at Trinity Broadcast Network (yeah, those freaks on TV). They light up the holidays as a continuation of a tradition begun by country music legend Conway Twitty, who used to own the compound til his death.

Anyway, there are lots of lights to see in Hendersonville, then still larger displays in nearby Nashville.

The long strands of lights span about 400 feet Barn w/snowflake, and my green/red cabin boat My car in lights w/blue Mi casa, y mi magnolias All these lights are on just one outlet! Go LEDs!
