Knoxville Nightlife

Baker Peters is a somewhat upscale restaurant that features jazz/blues bands. It's set in an historic brick building (supposedly haunted) near the corner of Peters Rd & Kingston Pike in West Knoxville. It's a pricey place, but they do have a pretty good happy hour, so give it a try before 7:00pm. Right now, martinis are half price, and they have good specials on other drinks as well. They have an upstairs bar and deck and a lounge area with couches. The bands tend to be a bit mediocre, but there's the occasional bright spot. The crowd is usually a bit older and a bit affluent, but fun.

Dress Code: None in the bar area, but people tend to wear nicer clothes. Shorts are fine, especially on the patio.

This is a fun place with a good jukebox and live music most nights. The bands can be rock, alternative, blues, bluegrass, etc. but they're always good. The prices are reasonable and the crowd covers most age groups, so all should feel comfortable. It's also a good place to hit whenever there are events going on at Market Square.

Currently there are some unfortunate charges against the owner, so the future of the place is up in the air. Rest assured, the place is safe, clean, professionally run, and the owner is very welcoming. Give it a try!
