Favorite thing: The technical name of this bridge is the Hernando-Desoto bridge, although it's also known as the Mississippi Bridge and the new bridge. This bridge has actually been around for about 30 years. Most people distinguish this bridge from the other bridge by calling it the new bridge. It connects Memphis, Tennessee to West Memphis, Arkansas. If you miss your downtown Memphis exit and continue on I-240 heading west you may very well end up on this bridge with no exits for about 20 minutes. Be careful. Once you pass exit 1 you have passed downtown Memphis & next stop will be West Memphis, Arkansas.
Favorite thing: The Memphis-Arkansas Bridge is also known as the old bridge. Clearly, it's been around longer than the Hernando-Desoto bridge. It's not quite as pretty to look at, but it is useful when there is a lot of traffic or an accident on the new bridge. They'll usually tell you on the news to take it as an alternate route.
When we arrived in Memphis we stopped at the visitor center on the banks of the Mississippee river... We just relaxed for a while and enjoy the view...
