Beale St.: A step back in time

    • Established in 1876, I really don't think much has changed in this store since then! It is the oldest family owned general store in the mid south. It is a wonderful treasure trove of amazing bargains. It has old wooden floors and lots of wooden counters. It is a maze of items, some from years ago! There are a few more floors upstairs and even a little museum.

    Lots of bargains and souvenirs. They sell almost anything you can think of. I don't think they have ever been able to do a stock take!
    Their motto is "If you can't find it at
    A. Schwabs, you are better off without it".

    Very cheap.

    There are all kinds of shops on Beale Street. From your typical t-shirt souvenir shops, to music stores, to craft stores. We went in every one we saw, looking for nothing in particular. We bought a few things, but mostly had fun looking through all of the unique merchandise! In addition, the vendors on the street were incredibly friendly!

    Anything unique you can find!

    The shops on Beale are very affordable. T-shirts for under $10!
