The best way to see the Mississippi River is from a riverboat. The Memphis Queen has several riverboats you can ride up & down the Mississippi River & around Mud Island. There are several different options for riverboat cruises, so be sure to check out their website for more info on which cruise would fit you best.

The best way to see the Mississippi River is from a riverboat. I took the sightseeing tour and the 90 min ride was enjoyable. The captain on the riverboat we were on, spun a great tale about the river and told quite a few funny jokes. He had a pleasant cajun accent which was nice to listen to. The chili nachos with peppers goes nice with a beer. There is a 2 and 5PM sightseeing cruise in the winter months. The 5PM one is nice because you may be able to catch a beautiful sunset and see the moon. If you are feeling romantic book the dinner cruise. Be warned to do the dinner cruise you need to book it at least 2 days in advance. We could not do it because the tickets were sold out. Student and people over 62 remember to take your ids for a nice discount.

Since the Delta Queen is on her Farewell Tour for the season I wanted to let you be aware of some art of this beautiful steamboat. Please keep on your congressman to keep this piece of American history plying the rivers for generations to come. http://www.marionsue.com/

Here is a great way to see and learn about Memphis--its history, geography, culture, and of course the Mississippi River itself. It's a lot of fun, and very safe.

You can see the entire city from a distance, Mud Island, the bridges, and where the original Holiday Inn once stood (vacant when I saw it). Learn about the river's eco-system, too.

There is a very steep hill to get to these. It really is not handicap accessible although some people who are handicap make it down there. In the fall on Sat is the only time when they have a dinner dance onboard
