Visit the Parthenon. How American is that?
Yes folks, Nashville houses the second Parthenon. Created as an exact replica of the Parthenon in Athens for Tennessee's centennial celebration in 1897, the building houses Athena Parthenos, the largest piece of indoor sculpture in the Western world at 41 feet, 10 inches tall(I took this from City Guide website, as I had NO idea what the heck Nashville was doing in trying to recreate one of the most famous Greek landmarks). Anyway, I guess there are actually a number of galleries housed in the Parthenon that are highly recommended by those in the know, so to move away from the Twang of country, why not try this out for an afternoon?

    The partheon

Real life-size replica of the Partheon in Athens built for a world's fair. Found inside is an Art Museum and a huge statue of Athena.

This place is amazing, a little bit of Greece (okay alot) in Nashville. It was made for the city's 100th birthday & the history is amazing, you can't miss it!

We visited the Parthenon and took advantage of the many photo ops. It's actually quite interesting and an educational experience if you're up for it.
