At the General Store, built in 1830, you'll find salad dressings, syrups, fresh-ground grains, homemade jams and jellies, as well as collectibles, souvenirs and books.
The fresh-ground grain products have been ground "in house" at the mill which has been operated for almost two centuries.
Be sure to try something that has been freshly ground at the mill like the grits, flours or pancake mix. and if you get pancake mix, you have to get some roasted pecan syrup or blueberry syrup.

If you have cats, love cats or know someone who does, this is a great place for you to shop. The Cat House is a combination store and cat rescue. Some of the cats are up for adoption. When you visit, see if you can spot some of the resident cats like Cleo or Xena sleeping in the cabinets or sunning by the window.
You can find anything that has to do with cats, including collectibles, figurines, T-shirts, jewelry, purses, cat toys, cat beds, DVD's and trinkets. and on and on....

Pigeon Forge is loaded with outlet malls, both high-end and everyday brands. My favorites are Pfaltzgraff, which also has a factory store in nearby Sevierville, and the Disney catalog outlet store, where the decor isn't like a regular Disney Store, but the prices can't be beat! Also worth a stop is the "Incredible Christmas Place," a year-round Christmas village on 441 between lights #2 and #3.

Lots of outlet stores are here. We went to the midnight Black Friday event at one of the outlet centers and I was only able to do one store (the Gap). When I got out of that store there was huge lines at all the others (like 1 hour waits!). We couldn't hack it and left. :p Theme: Other

From Easter to Christmas Eve, Singing Santa is in residence - you can have your photo made with him (for a nominal fee), buy his cd, or just listen as he entertains the shoppers, young and old alike.
When you are finished purchasing your decorations, wander around the garden area - there is a large train set that delighted the 5-year-old in my company, and other shops to browse - perhaps start or complete your gift shopping here.
While at the Incredible Christmas Place, you may as well purchase a souvenir ornament from your trip to the Smoky Mountains - perhaps a black bear in a stocking, or a porcelain ornament depicting this shop itself?
