My first time at Six Flags over Texas and we happen to strike a lousy day weather-wise. Prior to that day the weather had been up around 30-33C and lovely and sunny. This day was grey and gloomy, windy as anything and the temperature had dropped suddenly to around 18C. No having to worry about the heat and dehydration this day, I was wrapped up and hoping it wouldn't rain. Because of the windy conditions, a lot of attractions were closed.
We were trying to beat the schools breaking up for summer but there were quite a lot of kids out there anyway. The next day was perfect blue skies - not a cloud to be seen.
Arlington is actually a decent place to stay when you're working / doing business in the Dallas / Ft. Worth Metroplex.
It's close enough to enjoy all Dallas has to offer, but less traffic and very close / convenient to DFW airport for quick "in&outs."
Again, I'm no Arlington expert, just an occasional business-tourist. But there are some pleasant things to do and see.
Fondest memory: Dinners at Cacharel on Lamar;
Relaxing walks down at River Legacy Park;
Kickass barbecue at Bodacious;
Baseball games at the ballpark @ Arlington;
Looking out my hotel room and watching all the lit-up rides at Six Flags;
Lightly toasted, late night 90deg F swims in the pool.
Favorite thing: Arlington has LOTz of fun things to see and do such as Wet and Wild, 6 Flags Over Texas amusement park and the Texas Rangers Ballpark.
