Every fall, dozens of vendors participate in this all-you-can-eat event where you can sample offerings of food & beverage, all while raising money to benefit local children.
There's live music, theater performance groups, & even a silent auction.
Tickets prices vary depending on when they are purchased, & whether or not you choose VIP tickets.
Be advised however, that though the money is being raised for kids, this is an adult event.
There aren't discounted tickets for kiddos, either.
Inside the ballpark there is a 17,000sqft museum, a children’s learning centre and a 4 story office building.
The field itself is 22ft below street level so as to avoid summer winds. The movie 'The Rookie' with Denis Quaid was filmed at the then called, Arlington Ballpark.
This is a turboride which I'm saving for next time. There is a 48 x 63 ft screen which takes 100 riders on a multi-sensory turbo-ride adventure dodging trees, lava, rocks and hungry reptiles which apparently leap up at your from the screen.
This is the place to find everything. It is two full floors of stores with a central food court featuring many familar fast food places. Stores include JCPenny, Dillards, Foley's, Sears and Mervyn's among many others. This mall is very packed around Christmas time with police directing traffic in the parking lots!
It is THE place for anything computer related. Cheapest prices around for just about anything. Most items are a little bit outdated and some may be refurbished. Examples of deals are $5.99 for a new or $3.99 for used 10 pack of computer disks, $14.99 for used Sony 330 battery for FD-74 digital camera, 1.99 monitor power cables and 49 cent mouse pads (Most are Atlanta Olympics and Dell logo). I always shop here before going to a chain electronics store. It is the best place to find hidden treasures.
There are 8 themed galleries full of videos, artifacts and activities.
You can also walk over a bed of live coals, experience a Texas tornado, and be part of an earthquake.
Good place to watch locals playing ice hockey. Or if you like to skate, you can rent shoes for 2-3 dollars and try it yourself in the Parks Mall ice rink.
