County line on the Lake: Best Bar B Que in a long time!!!!
De-Lish-ous!!!!!! This place is good. I am very picky about my barbque, being from Texas and all, and this place hit the spot. Sauce is PERFECT!!!!! Brisket is tender, chicken is good. Oh, the coleslaw is different though, but good. It's has a ranch dressing taste or something, it's a welcomed change. The beans are tasty, and potato salad is nice. We had the mushrooms for an appetizer and they were good, sauteed though...not what I expected. A bit expensive, but well worth it. Enjoy!!!!!
Favorite Dish: The Sauce is unbeatable!!!!!

County Line: Everything is Great!
I can remember as a kid living in Austin very distinctly coming to County Line. We typically went to the West Lake Hills location as I remember the patio. But mostly I remember the bread, and would ask my parents to make bread just like that.
County Line is still my favorite BBQ restaurant despite now living over 300 miles from the nearest location. The sauce, the bread, the meat, the service and the environment just make the whole experience spectacular.
And the beautiful thing is that County Line is a BBQ place, but it's also very Austin, and vegetarians will not be left ordering exclusively sides as they have several options like vegetable kabobs and Gardenburgers.
And you will not find a better deal on food of this quality in Austin. Most of the sandwiches are $7-8, and this is a good amount of food.
Oh, and please don't forget to order their fresh bread. That's really the attraction here.
Favorite Dish: Brisket sandwich. Comes with fries and beans for $8.
County Line BBQ: Great BBQ
County Line has a country, diner, cook-out feel. It is very laid back and have always enjoyed the food. You can come here for a laid back date, after a ball game, or with a big group, and find it meets your needs.
Taken from their website: Set in old lake lodge, the County Line on the Lake is right on Bull Creek just off Lake Austin, and has been well known for years as The place in Austin to take out-of-town guests. Cocktails on the large redwood deck overlooking the water are a must. Open for Lunch & Dinner 7 days a week.
There are a few in the area so be sure to check the website for the closest one near you!

Favorite Dish: They have a turkey dish that comes with black pepper on it. It was fantastic. The best BBQ turkey plate I've ever had. I can't get anything other than that! Also, their beef brisket and sausage are fantastic.
County Line on the Lake: Time to Cross the County Line!
Frequently, we will have company come in town, in which a family style BBQ restaurant would be the best solution to the question of where to go for dinner. County Line restaurant and their "mercedes" menu is the perfect place for this need.
Family style servings of beans, slaw, potato salad, and bread accompany your choice of meats, from brisket, to chicken, to sausage etc.
Delicious... and plenty of food for about 20 dollars a head.
The County Line (on the hill): Legendary Bar-B-Q
The County Line is a regional chain in the southwest, famous for serving up heaping portions of good ol' down home texas barbecue. The Bee Cave Road location in Austin is the original one, and it sits atop a hill with a great view of the hilly countryside. The County Line is also famous for Air Ribs, their barbecue delivery service which allows you to have delivery to your home anywhere in the US.
The restaurant itself is rather dated and tacky, but what else would you expect. You can also learn to speak cowboy while using the restrooms. Then there's the giant fake beef ribs that hang on the back wall. It's the little touches that really make this place as corny as can be.
Favorite Dish: Vegetarians stay away! For that matter, anyone who has any sense of self-restraint stay away as well. This place serves up gargantuan portions of barbecued flesh. The beef ribs look like they came off a brontosauras. They give you a machete-like knife to hack away at them, but in the end you gotta get those hands nice and greasy (if not the rest of you too). But don't forget the sides of baked beans, cole slaw, side salad, soup, mashed potatoes, baked potato, potato salad, french fries, and a loaf of their homemade bread. Just don't forget to leave room for dessert and a defribulator!
