This is a casual, laid back and fun restaurant to have a margarita on the patio and indulge on some chips and salsa. The prices are reasonable and the service is really good. This restaurant has a real Austin feel to it.
Favorite Dish:
I really like their fish taco plate, served with beans and rice.
Save room for their fried ice cream drizzled in honey. Yum!
El Arroyo or Trudy's, both excellent Mexican food restaurants
El Arroyo has a great atmosphere, and live music every Thursday night. Trudy's food is probably better quality, but not quite as lively as El Arroyo.
Favorite Dish:
El Arroyo:you definately have to have their top shelf frozen margaritas with a Patron Silver floater.
Trudy's:Mexican Martinis are a must have.
(Warning:Both drinks will knock you on your ass! You are cut off after two!)
I will probably not give this place another try. This place just wasn't good to me. Nothing about it. The drinks were not good at all. I had a margarita, not enjoyable. The salsa was not good either. Our food was barely tolerable. So I don't think I will be back. There was a lot of people there though so maybe it's just me.
A local owned chain of Tex Mex restaurants with ice cold beer, cool beer gardens, and lots of great food. Go for the "Federale." It's two whopping plates of food, and it even includes a pint of beer! And it's for under ten bucks! Only in Austin...
