If you are looking for a great little restaurant with laid back atmosphere, delicious and authentic local Mexican food with the opportunity to dine outside to watch the world go by, you need to check out this place.
Favorite Dish: I had Plato Azul which was basically a delicious marinated chicken soft-shelled taco and a tamale with rice. The portion size was perfect and the chips served with the meal were fresh. They give you three different sauces for your chips- the green sauce is kinda spicy hot so naturally it was my favorite.
The food is very good. If you come to TExas, you must eat MExican, of course
If you come to Austin, you MUST go to GUERO's at least once
It's a local hangout as well
Favorite Dish: the EVERYTHING!!
it was very busy and the atmosphere was pretty good, but the hygiene standards did not look at all good to me.
Okay for a drink and to listen to music, but personally i'd give the food a miss on a second visit.
There are tons of Mexican restaurants in Austin, this is one of the best! There is always a wait which is sometimes long during peak times. While you wait though, there is a bar area where they serve great drinks and you can have your fill of chips and a choice of salsas. There is a sitting area outside, which kind of mixes in with the local foot traffic and just adds to the atmosphere. Great local restaurant that deserves a visit. Not sure about reservations, I think it is first come first serve.
Favorite Dish: Nachos and beef enchilada's
Guero's. The best Mexican food!
inexpensive and fun atmosphere. expect to wait in line at peak hours, but well worth
Favorite Dish: salad with chiptole-feta dressing & tortilla soup. Their salsas are also amazing.
Also, anything with chicken in it. The chicken is so tender and fresh.
Of course, last but not least, you must have a screamin' rita for refreshment.
one will put a kick in your buttocks.
