It's completely legal to drive your car on the beach here!!
You must buy a 'beach parking' permit though, get it from a convenience store: $5 per month or $10 for a year.
We often gathered our grills, rechargable blenders and had a great party all night on the water.

There are many great ways to get around Padre Island and Corpus Christi. By car is great, however during certain times of the year you may have a difficult time parking and you will have to pay to park. I recomment walking, roller blading, bike riding, etc..
If getting around by car you really must go in a convertible. It's THE way to drive the shoreline!!

I went from Mexico to Corpus Christi, so first i took a bus from Monterrey to McAllen were i was pick up and drive thru to Corpus Christi.
Is better have your own car to driving arround, that way you can go to closer cities and other beaches, but you can move arround the bay with boat too

The Harbor Bridge is the most memorable item in the Corpus Christi sky line.
