Ok, so we are from Kansas. The first thing we do is head to the beach. Upon arrival we noticed lots of jellyfish on the beach. This makes us wary to even set foot in the water.
We talked to a very nice lady at a visitor information center who told us that people do get stung by jellyfish, but that it won't really hurt you. The stinging does hurt, but it's not going to kill you.
There are also two different things to look out for. Jellyfish there are white and look like a head of colliflower. The Portuguese Man-of-War is blue/purple (very pretty actually) and they are jelly like and have a balloon type body with long tenticles.
She said an important item to take with you is alcohol or hydrogen peroxide. If you do happen to get stung you just pour one of those onto your sting and it is supposed to help with the pain.
We went swimming on two separate days and did not get stung. There were a couple of times we saw some rolling in on the waves or out to sea from the shore, but we were lucky enough not to experience that part of the beach.

The only dangers I would warn you about while visiting here is that the sun can be brutle on skin without taking some precautions. Even during the winter (we don't really have a winter here but we like to pretend we do) months, it is advisable to wear sunscreen if you are fair and will be out for over 20-30 min. in the full sun. (Note: I have gotten sunburned from sitting in the shade for an hour or two.) I also suggest hats for men and women and kids. The summer time can be really hot and you MUST protect your skin then. But that is why there are so many under the sun fun things to do here. Just be careful!

My first time at Corpus i was a little girl and I have been hurt by a Jelly Fish. When the sea is jumbled there's a lot of that dangerus creature. They make feel an special ardour and you skin turns some red color.
Be careful if you see one near you and also be careful when you walk coz you can find one at the sand.
If you get hurt by one put some treatment baby cream. You'll feel better, but i heard there's other way to don't feel the pain...you want to know??

The major roads in/out of Corpus are also the major money-makers for the local sheriff's depts. These boys don't issue warnings (unless you're a local and/or know the judge)
