Favorite thing: After picking up our rental car at DFW Airport, we headed away from Dallas for a couple of days in Oklahoma before my meetings started. The traffic was quite steady and heavy on the 635 Ring Road (noon on Saturday) until we branched off and headed north on Rt. 75 for Oklahoma. On our return, we were coming in from the east on Interstate-30 on a Monday morning and I was worried about the traffic in getting to our downtown hotel. However, we drove straight in to Dallas-Love airport for the drop-off with no traffic problems at all. Once we took a taxi to the downtown area, things became even quieter. There seemed to be very little traffic on the streets for a city of this size! I was surprised all week long at how easy it would have been to get around by car (if I had one) - not even close to driving in Boston or New York!

Favorite thing: This is one of our major highways(635) which has 5 driving lanes. The fast lane near the middle is called the HOV(High Occupancy Vehicle) lane, in which you must have at least 2 people in the car. If not, you'll be ticketed $200 if the police spot you.

Fondest memory: I arrived with my wife at the airport,we travelled by taxi to our motel in arlington(very far,about 20 kms);the next day,we gave 20$ to the boss(who was from gujarat,india) to drive us back to dallas downtown;the boss asked me:
you have no car?
I said:no,I have no driving licence;
he answered:no need,look,it's easy to drive...

Favorite thing: Drive south on I45 after dark for about 30 minutes, turn around, then drive back north toward Dallas. As you get closer, you can marvel at the Dallas skyline, one of the most beautiful cityscapes in the country.

Fondest memory: Riding around Dallas late at night on a warm spring evening on my Harley, stopping in at one of the many nightlife restarurants, meeting a few friends here and there, talking, laughing, then getting back on the Harley and riding home. It's pure bliss.

Favorite thing: Botanical Gardens,Six Flags Over Texas,John F. Kennedy Memorial,Wax Museum,and Ripleys'Believe It Or Not.

Fondest memory: When I was a child,my mother and I would go Downtown Dallas and see the Mobil Flying Red Horse,which still stands today.I am 59 yrs. of age. The Mobil Building was the tallest building at the time. Now it is dwarfed by so many taller buildings,but when I pass by there,it brings fond memories,to my mind. When I moved away rom Dallas,I missed the many Lakes in the area,like Joe Pool Lake,White Rock Lake,and others.I enjoy fishing.
