    Humperdink's: Best Sports Bar

by msbrandysue Written Jul 25, 2007

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Humperdink's is the name of a small chain of sports bars. They have a great crowd, great drinks, and it gets pretty loud on the weekends. If there is a game you want to watch or just people to meet, this place will satisfy. They have trivia and video Texas Hold 'Em if you like to play while you drink. They always have Pay Per View, boxing, championships, etc.

They have a bar section and food section. There is a pretty nice size wall between the two so if you want to eat without the noise it can be done. The website will show you the range of food. However, I've only come for drinks.

Their mud slide is especially good! They also offer kegs if you're looking for a party on wheels.

It is all ages during the day but 21+ at night to get into the bar area.

There are various spots around Dallas. I prefer the one in Addison.

Dress Code: Depends when you go...If you're going during the day jeans and sneakers are fine.

If you're going in the evening I would wear a nice shirt, nicer jeans, and nicer shoes than sneakers. It's not that they won't let you in, you'll just fit in better.

    Here ya go... One more...

Corner Bar & Grill: Corner Bar & Grill

    by twentysix.two Written May 6, 2007

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Primarily populated with the SMU crowd, on Wednesday nights this sports bar & grill turns into a packed karaoke bar around 11 pm. Food is served until 11 pm and, in the back there are pool tables and video games. It's also a great place to just chill and catch up with a friend in one of several cozy booths on one of the other days.

    Ginger Man: Ginger Man

    by twentysix.two Updated Jul 8, 2007

This is my favorite pub in Dallas. As far as Ginger Man locations go, this is my favorite as well--Houston (the original), Austin, and New York. I have not yet been to the one in Fort Worth which opened in January 2007.

On Tuesday nights they offer logo pint nights (buy the beer, keep the glass) on various promotional beers. On Saturdays they offer live music on the back patio.

Oh yes...and they have two bristle dart boards inside.

    Cafe Madrid: First Wednesday--international night

by TexasKyle Updated Apr 4, 2011

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

The first Wednesday of each month is international night at Cafe Madrid. It's a fun scene starting around 8:00 with lots of Latin expatriates drinking sangria and mingling with locals. The party usually moves next door to Sambuca around 11:00 for salsa dancing and goes till late.

    A restoration project from...

A restoration project from 1995-1997! Although I thought we'd never finish it was such a charge working on it week after week. I learned so much about every detail of this car that when it is being admired on the street or at the car shows I can't wait to WOW anyone with my knowledge.

I even put in the drive shaft MYSELF!
FROM DATSUN 240Z TO NISSAN 300ZX, 25 YEARS OF A CLASSIC 1966 Nissan identifies a market for a new kind of sports car. Its product planners envision an agile, compact GT whose performance and comfort would outrun its price. Nissan engineers begin work on a prototype, which would become the 240Z.

    Driving Downtown: The Dallas Glow

by msbrandysue Updated May 22, 2011

Sometimes I don't feel like "going out" to some specific place, but I admire being around the lights that come alive after the sun goes down. If you're not from Dallas and are staying close to town I would highly suggest just driving around downtown at night. There are clubs open and many fine dining restaurants so it's not like it's abandoned or dangerous. Yes, you will see plenty of homeless but I have never been bothered.

Because of the warmer temperatures during the day I love to put my windows down (and since I drive a convertible I put the top down) and drive around getting dizzy from the lights and especially the green Bank of America building, an American icon.

It's especially fun during the Christmas season when there are extra lights.

If nothing else you may want to check out the website. It's got a lot of things that are happening in the Downtown Dallas area.

Dress Code: Who cares? You're just driving! But you may want to be prepared in case you see a stop you'd like to make. Most downtown restaurants and clubs require a somewhat nice dress code.

***Sorry for the picture quality. This is before I knew of the different features on my camera. And, again, I was driving so .... not the safest thing in the world to do.

  • Pugsley's Library: Great Sports Bar

    by agmoose02 Written Sep 16, 2006

This is a great sports bar off of I-35 E in Dallas. This place has multiple large and small screen TVs, dart boards, pool tables, foosball and shuffleboard. On weekends and some week days there is also live music. There is also a large bar with a wide selection of drinks and beer, and though it is often crowded, you never have to wait long for one of the lovely waitresses to check on you. Open 11AM-2AM daily.

  • A wide variety

by kingbk Written May 11, 2007

Nightlife is unreal in Dallas/Fort Worth. There are so many options to do, but I'll put down some of my favorites.

If you like drinking and dancing, head over to Greenville Avenue and Deep Ellum for a great variety of bars, clubs and other nightlife areas. Also have great cafes and patios.

One fun thing to do if you have a big group of people is play Whirlyball. It's part lacrosse, part bumper cars. Also inside are video games, a bar to get drinks and more.

Dancing includes salsa, country, swing and club styles. Gloria's is great for salsa dancing, country I'd head to Fort Worth and go to Billy Bob's and club styles there are a wide variety of places. Sundance Square in Fort Worth has City Streets, a good place for dancing as well.

Smirnoff Music Center is a huge outdoor pavillion for concerts. On a nice day, it's a fun place to go and listen to big acts.

Bass Hall in Fort Worth has great theatres productions and other shows. I'd recommend looking into going to one of those as well.

If you're looking for somewhere to have a drink or two on a Tuesday night, check out Primo's mexican restaurant on McKinney and the the bar called The Quarter next door. They are located in the Uptown area just north of downtown Dallas. Both places will be filled with young professioanls in their 20s and 30s.

Things get started after work at Primos and then move to The Quarter around 9:00 or 10:00.

    Tejano Dancing anyone?

by Mighty Written Jun 24, 2004

Look, it's not for everyone, but one of the big parts of Dallas' Spanish night life is Tejano Dancing. I've been out Tejano dancing with friends before and it can be lots and lots of fun. Please keep in mind that men tend to out number women in these places and they can be friendly to an overwhelming and sometimes unpleasant degree. Typically they don't mean anything by it.

The place that I would recomend for beginners is Country 2001. Which is a big giant smoky barn of a place with lots of spanish polka dancing and two stepping. Beer is overpriced but there are plenty of bouncers and about 6 bars. It's over off of I35, about midway from downtown to north dallas if memory serves... anyway, I looked up their number; (214) 654-9595 - don't expect them to speak engish when you call.. .some do some don't.

Dress Code: country. Blue jeans and starched shirts... Girls almost anything..
