    Dickey's Barbecue Pit: Area Chain

We ate at the Dickey's in Frisco one night. Dickey’s Barbecue was founded in 1941 by Travis Dickey in a one-room building at the intersection of Knox and Central Expressway just north of downtown Dallas. The original store had sawdust on the floors and sold beef brisket, ham and ribs. If you wanted a vegetable, you could have potato chips or barbecue beans, or both. Add a bottle of soda, milk or beer and that was the entire menu. There are Dallas Dickey's at these locations with the phone and fax number

For the best ribs in town go...

For the best ribs in town go to 'Dicks' in the 'West End' of Dallas and then head on up highway 35north to 'Pappadauex' for the best cajun this side of New Orleans!
Dicks is informal and moderately priced. Pappadaeux is informal but more of a dinning atmosphere and you get tons of food, not expensive but more than Dicks.
