American Airlines Center opened in July 28 2001 with a large ceremony in the morning and an Eagles concert at night. The Center is 840,000sqft and is part of the master planned Victory District, adjacent to the West End and two major highways. It has now become home to the Dallas Stars and the Dallas Mavericks.
Other than sporting events, the will hold many concerts and other events like Barnum & Bailey Circus, Ringling Brother, Disney on Ice and the Harlem Globetrotters. The complex seats 19,200 for basketball, 18,000 for hockey and 20,000 for other events.
Their website reports that the Center has ”more toilets per capita than any other sports and entertainment venue in the country. With more than a 3:1 ratio of women's vs. men's toilets, it exceeds the requirements of the Texas 'Potty Parity' law.” Works for me. Leave a Comment

There are about 5,300 parking spaces available for American Airlines Center guests. The majority of these parking spaces are located within 2 blocks of American Airlines Center. In addition, there are over 3,000 parking spaces to the south and east of American Airlines Center within easy walking distance.
Parking lots open 3 hours prior to the start of each event and remain open until 2 hours after the end of each event. These parking spaces usually cost money that you will purchase while buying your concert/sport tickets. If you would prefer a cheaper route there is the public transportation subway that you can look into. I always park, though, sorry!
