    Two trips with a child

My husband's parents took my oldest daughter to the Botanical Garden in the fall, and then in the springr my parents also took her. She enjoyed the outdoor activities more than the tour of the DeGolyer House. My mother took some photos - it was very early in the year, so there were only spring flowers.

Thursday concerts at the Arboretum (May-July)

Every Thursday night from May through July, you can see outdoor concerts (usually by a one group cover band such as Beatles, Rolling Stones, etc.) at the Dallas Arboretum. Everyone brings coolers and sits on the grass to eat, drink and socialize. Great views of the arboretum and the White Rock Lake in the background. The concerts cost $14 and begin at 7:00 p.m., but get there early and snag a place in the shade. (It's still hot in Dallas at 7:00!)

These botanical gardens sit on the shore of White Rock lake. The garden is relatively small but well laid out with a lot of dining options on site.
