This zoo is not as spectacular as Fort Worths' zoo, but it has a NEW exciting Exxon Tiger exhibit. There are 1,400 mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, chimpanzees and elephants. There is a petting zoo and childrens zoo also.

There is a 67.5 foot bronze giraffe at the entrance to the zoo which also overlooks R.L Thornton Freeway - you can't miss it. Standing a good 15 feet taller than 'Big Tex' who is displayed at the State Fair of Texas, the giraffe is now the tallest statue of anything in Texas.

It's not as good as the Ft. Worth Zoo, but it's getting better. They've been renovating it for awhile, and they might even be done. It's a good place for animals to ogle and study us strange humans as we file by.

Dallas Zoo is one of my must see activities because I like animals.
We were there shortly after the Wilds of Africa and new tiger exhibit were completed. These are very nice exhibits. There were other areas of the zoo that were having construction at that time and should be finished by now.

This is more like a combination of an aquairum and a small zoo. It is not huge, but exhibits are very nice. Check out the pinguins and sea horses!
