by keeweechic There is a 67.5 foot bronze giraffe at the entrance to the zoo which also overlooks R.L Thornton Freeway - you can't miss it. Standing a good 15 feet taller than 'Big Tex' who is displayed at the State Fair of Texas, the giraffe is now the tallest statue of anything in Texas. Leave a Comment

by Kodi01 This zoo is not as spectacular as Fort Worths' zoo, but it has a NEW exciting Exxon Tiger exhibit. There are 1,400 mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, chimpanzees and elephants. There is a petting zoo and childrens zoo also. Leave a Comment

The Zoo is set out on 95 landscaped acres and features rare and endangered species. There are 25 acres of Wilds of Africa which recreates six different habitats. It was named the best African exhibit in the U.S. You can take a monorail safari through the exhibit. There is a 1,500 ft nature trail and a gorilla conservation center. Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. seven days a week. Closed Christmas day. Leave a Comment Directions: Located. 3 miles south of downtown on I-35E at Marsalis exit in Oak Cliff Oak Cliff

in jail by btex It's not as good as the Ft. Worth Zoo, but it's getting better. They've been renovating it for awhile, and they might even be done. It's a good place for animals to ogle and study us strange humans as we file by. Leave a Comment

Dallas Zoo is one of my must see activities because I like animals. We were there shortly after the Wilds of Africa and new tiger exhibit were completed. These are very nice exhibits. There were other areas of the zoo that were having construction at that time and should be finished by now. Leave a Comment Directions: Get there from I-35E on 650 South R.L. Thornton Freeway.Other Contact: Open Daily (except on Christmas

by el_ruso This is more like a combination of an aquairum and a small zoo. It is not huge, but exhibits are very nice. Check out the pinguins and sea horses! Leave a Comment
