I suppose you would have to be of a certain age to enjoy this, but there once was a television series called "Dallas" which was extremely popular. The exterior shots were filmed using the house and grounds shown in these pictures. Interior shots, however were filmed in Southern California studios.

Southfork ranch , you get to walk round the house and property from the show Dallas .
Inside the house is not what they used on the show but outside is.
Our hotel hooked us up with a driver they use and he took us for $120.00 .
Impossible to go to dallas without a visit to Southfork. Dallas was the first Soap serie and had huge fame in Europe. it is still broadcasted on the cable and satellite TV.
We recognized the gate, the long path, the building, the pool and the breakfast table. Indoor, the rooms seem smaller than in the serie which is normal the scenes were shot in a LA studio.
I remember all the outdoor scenes showed e windy weather. So we had the wind during our stay and I guess now it is permanent there.
At the entrance, there is a souvenir shop and a small museum mainly showing pictures. A little tram brought us from the entrance to the Ranch. The guide explained quickly the ranch story, how it had been chosen as a mythic place, its current use (tourism and wedding) and its last price (40 millions $). Nobody lives there now.
After, we were allowed to visit the rooms called : Miss Elie's bedroom, JR's bedroom, Sue Elen's bathroom? etc... But the actors never lived there.
The Jock's portrait is at the best place in the living room above the chimney.
In the neighborhood, there were pens with horses, a restaurant, a souvenir shop and a motel (for the wedding guests I guess).
Price : 7$95
It is not interesting by itself but only the for the serie remembrance.

One can't visit Dallas without making a trip to Southfork Ranch. You ask yourself, why? Well if you don't know, this is the place where the tv series Dallas was filmed. Yes, you remember...the Ewings (J.R. and the rest of his clan)...for 13 years they made this place their home.
Today, you can tour the ranch and experience the lifestyle made famous by the Ewings. See things like the gun that shot J.R., Lucy's Wedding Dress, the Dallas Family Tree, and Jock's Lincoln Continental.

This is the ranch the television series "Dallas" was filmed at, it is quite an impressive ranch.
The world famous JR Ewing the oil baron!
This ranch is on 334 acres if land. You can take a tour for $7.95 and see the mansion, pool and famous breakfast table where so many deals were made.
It's not really in Dallas; it's in Parker (about 30-40 minutes away from downtown Dallas.) It's about as close to a world famous monument as the Dallas area has. It's not as big as it looks on tv, but it's worth a visit. They've added on to it in recent years...it used to just be the house and the land and a small visitor center. Now...there are ballrooms, Miss Ellie's Deli, a bigger visitor center, a rodeo-type facility, tours, horses...and the longhorn cattle are still there. The only thing missing these days is J.R. and the rest of the gang....
Having been hooked to the Dallas soap saga in the 80's I couldn't resist this one. It bears very little resemblance to the Ewing family home on the TV series.
the famous ranch of the ewing family;you all remember this swimming-pool where the whole family starts the 1st quarrel of the morning in front of a delicious breakfast
