    Dallas Love Field

by ATXtraveler Written Jan 2, 2005

If you are in one of Texas' border states and are looking for a quick and convienent way to get into Dallas, then you should look at Dallas Love Field as a viable option to the hustle and bustle of DFW.

Dallas Love Field has a unique bit of history to it as well. Did you know that this is the only airport in US history to serve as a swearing in location for a US President?

After JFK's assassination, Lyndon Baines Johnson was sworn in on the tarmac, as his plane landed to verify President Kennedy's death.

Currently Southwest and Continental Airlines are the two carriers servicing this airport.

The advertise that they will also take well-behaved, trained dogs in their carriages. Their rides start around $35 for a 15-20 min ride.

The TRE (Trinity Railway Express) links downtown Fort Worth, downtown Dallas and DFW Airport. Scheduled train service is provided Monday through Saturday.
Tickets are obtained from vending machines on the platform before you board the train.

Travelled on this train on a return journey Dallas to Fort Worth and also used it from Downtown Dallas to the airport. The train was a double decker and we sat upstairs, great novelty! Was impressed with how clean and comfortable the train was. Very modern and efficient service and cheap too!

When you arrive at the airport stop there is a short ride on a shuttle bus to the terminal. When you arrive at Fort Worth there is a trolley bus to Sundance Square and the Stockyards area.

    Most Harley shops in Dallas...

    by Cherie_J Updated Aug 25, 2002

    1.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Most Harley shops in Dallas will rent out Harley's from $100-$160 a day. All you need is a motorcycle license and you are good to go!

Here shortly some of my friends and I are going to rent some Harley's for a weekend trip to the Hill Country...

    You gotta luv TEXAS!
This is an Orthopedic Surgeon I used to work with...He knew my love for Harley's and surprised me one Saturday with a leedle ride!

Of course there are many nice things about Texas...since the winters are mild there is no salt on the roads...therefore rusting is never an issue. Another plus is the nice weather is perfect for Sunday drives in your convertable or motorcyle...Ahh, Nice!!!

  • D.A.R.T. and DFW International

by kingbk Written May 11, 2007

Dallas is still a really big car city. However, you aren't SOL if you like public transportation. D.A.R.T. has been building a light rail that is very clean and efficient. It is a good way to get around the city and it contacts with the Trinity Express to take you to Fort Worth or the DFW Airport.

DFW Airport is the third busiest in the country. It flies to almost anywhere.

    Ride the star spangled train

    by Martin_H Written Aug 29, 2005

The Trinity Rail Express links Dallas and Fort Worth and has a stop not far from DFW airport. To get to the train station take a courtesy bus to Remote South parking and then a second courtesy bus from there. Although it takes a bit of time it is very cheap at $2.25 and takes you right into Union Station.

If you have a long horn, you may get thru traffic

If you have a long horn cattle, it may be the best way to get around as you want to stay off the major expressways during rush hour. :)
