When most folks think of the Battle at Goliad, they think of the presidio located down the road. But this is where the actual capture of Fannin and his men occurred as they attempted to escape from Santa Anna's troops. From here they were marched back to Goliad where they were executed.

It's quiet today. Even entrance to the park is unmanned and on the honor system, where you're expected to drop your money in a container at the gates.
