One of the first stops you should make is the Fort Worth Convention and Visitors Bureau for lots of great info in and around the Fort Worth area. They can supply you with brochures and maps and any helpful information to make sure you do not miss anything during your stay.
There is also another Visitors Bureau in the Stockyards.
The Bureau is open..
Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5.pm
Saturday 10am to 4.pm

Known as the original Bulldogger, this Texan who was born in Taylor, TX (just outside Austin), Bill Pickett was the star of the show in the early 1900s when he would ride his horse next to a longhorn steer, jump off and wrestle the massive beast down by the horns.
Bill passed away while working at the Miller Ranch when he was kicked in the head by a wild horse. He was the first Black Cowboy inducted into the National Cowboy Hall of Fame in the 70's. Leave a Comment
