Riscky's Steak House, Fort Worth

The front parlor is nice and quiet, however we were herded into the main dinning room (corral). Everything was fake western city, same as the food. I had the steak special and boy was it special!!! I think they got my steak off the bottom of someone's sandal. It was so tough that they could have used it for airplane tires. It came with mushrooms and a sauce of some kind, I'm not sure because I didn't get to see the label on the cans they came from. With that said we did get extra special servicefrom the waiter. Hint... don't order wine in Texas, they don't know about anything that doesn't have a long neck. The wine we selected was from Napa (as written on the bottle), their menu and waiter said it was Paso Robles (I guess they know better).
We were rushed by they waiter to finish the bottle of wine we did select, no offer of desert or anything else (no kidding).
Leaving on a good note the bread was excellant.
Just be carefull with this place because it's right across from where they have year around rodeo and someone was probably riding your steak earlier that day.

Favorite Dish: the water, because they couldn't screw it up

You'll find Riscky's Steakhouse right in the center of the Stockyards District. The building is not anything special on the outside--although the Black Angus cow on the sign catches your atttention. It's what inside that counts--good food!

Riscky's has a downhome decor that includes red and white checked table cloths and oldtime storefronts encircling the dining area. I ordered a luscious black angus steak that was cooked perfectly. It came accompanied by a bread basket, baked potato with sour cream and chives and a house salad topped with ranch dressing.

The service was very accommodating--our waiter checked back with us regularly to see if we needed anything. The barbeque had a distinct taste to it, but I can't pin it down. There are ALWAYS crowds at Riscky's, so I think it's a good bet you'll find something to please you here.

If you're ever in Ft. Worth, be sure to sample some of Riscky's cooking--they're all over Dallas/Ft.Worth!

Favorite Dish: Mouthwatering steaks!

I went with 6 other people and we all thought the same; it was good but not all that. The steaks were cooked to our specifications but they put the wrong side dishes on all of our plates. The beers were big but flat. The service was okay, and the restaurant was clean. I just didn’t think it was all the hype and it did not live up to everyone’s praise.

This is an old family business and one of the best steakhouses in Fort Worth Their -Stockyards Special"- a mesquite smoked sirloin strip covered with mushrooms & onions saut'ed in a red wine sauce. Other temptations are, Pork Ribs, Chicken grilled or fried, Kapusta which is a sauerkraut soup (brought from Poland by the family in the 1920's), sandwiches, burgers or a bacon wrapped filet. Riscky's is licensed with beer and wine.

Some people like the Riscky's restaurants and some think they are a tourist trap.

Inside it was like a reproduction western street with a Tivoli Saloon storefront, a butcher, a blacksmith shop, a saloon etc.

Favorite Dish: We ate lunch here. We each had the special which was ground beef patty and either fries or mashed potatoes and gravy and a salad for $5.95. My granddaughter had chicken fingers.

Meateaters of the world will be very happy here.

The 3H Restaurant, corner of Main and Exchange streets, offers tasty modernized Tex-Mex with an unusual salsa all their own. If you're not dieting do try one of the knockout desserts.

Cattlemen's Restaurant, next door on Main Street, is Texas plain and simple: steak in any shape or cut you've ever heard of, basic salad and fries. At dinnertime locals packed this place. DON'T snicker or stare at the cowboys - if they're wearing holsters the guns are NOT checked at the door.

Riscky's is locally famous or notorious - depends on the reviewer. We had no time to check them out. Same with Billy Bob's Honky Tonk. We saw it, it's big, but there was no show at 1:30 in the afternoon.

Poke around the neighborhood: side streets have interesting eateries both large and small just waiting to be sampled.
