I HAD NEVER SEEN ONE OF THESE BEFORE this one in Georgetown, and I later saw another in Austin, so it must be a Texas thing.
Its a simple metal building, and apparently you can drive in one end and, from your car, purchase such items as soda pop, potato chips, lip balm, scotch tape, and who knows what, then drive out the other end!
Now why didn't I think of that?

In 1997 Georgetown was the first Texas town to be recognised for the Great American Main Street Award which is given for exceptional accomplishments in the revitalisation of Historic Downtown areas.

The Red Poppy Festival is held on the square on the first weekend in April. There is a street parade and marching bands, crafts and stalls, and all the usual fun things for kids.
