This is my wife's favorite shop in Georgetown, its just a half block off of the town square. It has every kind of beading item you might want and the ladies who work there know what they are talking about.
What to buy:
beads of every description, also beading tools and supplies.
What to pay:

Rough and Ready Antiques carries many objects of interest for the casual antique shopper.
As we browsed about the store we found an old sewing machine, patched quilts, odds and ends suitable for vintage kitchens, great old metal signs (pic #2), stainglass windows, aged picture prints, China plates of all sizes, assorted linens, glassware, large and small scale furniture, vintage clothing and other items.
The maze of rooms were filled to overflowing with collectibles and antiques which just might fit into your decor at home. I found a small irridescent rose colored 'frog' to hold flower arrangements in place while displaying them in vases or bowls. Perhaps not the most interesting purchase, but one I'll put to use sooner or later.
Note:The retail end of this shop has closed; Annarella, continues to help design lovely homes
After a memorable meal at Wildfire on Saturday evening, we determined to walk a bit before returning to our B&B. A few doors down we discovered ANNARELLA's door open and still welcoming visitors beyond normal business hours.
The building is striking in that its interior walls are stone, so the room displays all have a rustic backdrop to them. I saw some gorgeous woven throws that would look great in anyone's cozy home and table linens in the hues of Autumn leaves.
Quality kitchenware, ceramics, ornamental metal, dramatic looking jewelry, gourmet baking mixes and oils, leather and imported wood furniture, luxury bath products, scented candles and design consultation and services are available here.
Hours are Mon.-Sat,. 10am-6pm; Sun. 11am-5pm.
The Escape is a great place to find that unusual, artistic gift. Just as I was commenting on the orange glass pumpkins in my opening photo, Jim was pointing out the clock used as a backdrop for them. We thought this shop had an interesting collection of glass art (pic #3) and other accessories.
Three Chihuly-style glass chandeliers shimmered above our heads, priced at a fraction of the cost of an authentic one (pic #2). Round glass orbs of all colors dangled above the register, while other imaginative creations were displayed throughout the shop.
If you plan to visit Georgetown, be sure to stop by The Escape. I think you'd appreciate the creative handcrafts on display here.
Hours are Mon.-Thurs. 10am-6pm; Fri. & Sat. 10am-8pm and Sun. 1pm-5pm.
What to pay:
Moderate to pricey

You might also want to wander through Cobblestone Antiques (pics#3-4), where you'll find the type of vintage kitchen collectibles I like. If you're a clock collector, you'll find them here and this business also repairs them!
I just love the character of old buildings. This shop reminds me of an old general store with two levels on which to browse. You'll might just discover something here that you once saw in Grandma's house and always wanted.
Cobblestone's hours are Mon.-Sat. 10am-5:30pm.; Sun. 12N-5pm. (512-863-9607)
Note: Call before visiting, this shop has new store hours!
Elegant Interiors is one of the decor stores we'd like to keep in mind for a future visit--it lived up to its name! As we wandered through the various display rooms we noted...
Oil paintings--most featuring landscapes, historic architecture or Tuscan-style farmhouses as their theme;
large scale furniture;
decorative pillows;
chandeliers,
wrought iron accessories, such as planters or candle sconces;
metal ornamental pieces;
artificial flowers and berries,
lamps and other attractive home accents.
Every room and snug corner of the store holds something beautiful. If you're looking for decorating ideas, stop by!
FYI: The store also offers designer services, custom bedding and draperies, wood, vinyl and ceramic flooring and wide-range of fabric selections. Hours are Mon.-Sat. 9:30am-5:30 p.m. and by appointment.

Chupa Rosa carries art, jewelry and home decor created in Mexico that will add a south-of-the-border touch to your home.
Bright red, yellow and blue patterned pottery, tin ornaments, turquoise and lapis jewelry and miniature folk art nativities, colorful planters, handblown glass, decorated wood boxes and furniture, local art, embroidered textiles, greeting cards and holiday accessories are gathered together in this restored Merchantile building. (512-966-6395)
A floral shop also shares this restored space offering greenery for your home, seasonal wreaths, dried and silk flowers and other lovely arrangements. (pic #2).
Country antique pieces were used to display the eye-catching dried and silk flower creations, which I thought were beautiful. I believe the antiques came from Wooden Heart Antiques & Refinishing in Taylor, Texas.
One of the first things we did upon arriving was to dash into Sweet Serendipity for a chocolate break. This shop was voted 'best toffee' in Georgetown and after tasting a piece we wholeheartedly agree--it was lip-smackin' good (pic #2)!
The candy case held other sweet wonders! I fell off the calorie-counting wagon by sampling a Buttercream Truffle, as well. This is a shop I want to visit again!
As it was October, the shop was displaying cute harvest-themed gifts such as ceramic pumpkins, dried flowers and wreaths, carved wooden gourds, ceramic and wood turkeys, scarecrows, candles and other seasonal offerings. I'm sure you get the idea.
Sweet Serendipity will ship their candy right to your door; they also specialize in gift baskets.
