by TexasDave This is a walk-up-to-the-counter-and-order restaurant.A few minutes they call your number and you go and pick up your tray. There is a condiment bar with al kinds of condiments (hot, hotter, and cojones! salsa). There is also a bar that makes a variety of margaritas. In fact later at night a lot of the emphasis is on the bar scene. Not a lot of atmosphre as far as the building itself goes, but still my favorite place for Tex-Mex. They also make their tortillas fresh right there on the grill.
I frequently get the 'Poco de Todo' (a little of everything) plate, which is a nice sampler. Besides that I like their gorditas and of course, the fajitas. Americas by Angelamtp1 Besides the jaw-dropping New Age architecture by Jordan Mozer and the way-out interior decor, you'll love Americas' food. Although the menu is similar to its sister restaurant, Churrascos, expect a wider seafood selection and more futuristic plate presentations. South American Cuisine

Flamenco at Mi Luna, Houston, Texas by XenoHumph Mi Luna is a fun tapas restaurant. For those who may not know, tapas are spanish appetizers, i.e. small portions of food, cold or warm, typical of what is served in bars in Spain. You can get various forms of calamari, fried goat cheese, eggplant with spices, lamb dishes,... This restaurant's tapas are excellent, the waiters are very nice, the service good, the atmosphere great. Accompany that with a glass of nice spanish wine. Some evenings feature a flamenco entertainment after 8 pm. The best food around the University of Houston, wonderful Thai cuisine! Yet... what's wrong with the staff??? They can be very unfriendly, slow, especially if the restaurant is full like at lunch time and they are busy. I still go there from time to time at lunch because it is the only decent food to be found around UH.
Watch out: when they say a dish is spicy, they mean it! Lunch by nomorewars This is not a restaurant tip, but praise to my mother-in-law. Without a shadow of a doubt, she is the best cook in the Southwest. If it were not for the existence of my own mother, I would have gone as far to state that my mother-in-law is the best cook in the whole world.
There are scores upon scores of Mexican restaurants to choose from in Houston. As a matter of fact, I read somewhere that there were over 1500. At first I didn’t believe that, but as drove around the city I saw one on every corner. There may be some truth behind this. Leave a Comment Theme: Mexican

Lupe's Tortillas, Clear Lake, Houston, Texas by XenoHumph This nice Mexican restaurant serves classical Mexican and TexMex dishes which are very good. And for once, you can actually get spicy food! The fajitas are best. Note, this restaurant is great for kids as there is an outdoor playground for them. But, if you are not willing to eat next to screaming brats, there are little quiet rooms available too!
Great margarita's with a kick, they are not shy on the alcohol content! Great fajitas, spicy stuffs! If you like junk food, then pandulce is for you. Pandulce is typically a Mexican pastry. But Hondurans & Guatemalans have also been known to produce certain cakes & breads, giving them a twist.
There are many types of Pandulce, & I have no idea what their names are. However, look for the loaves of bread with peppermint. They’re the best. Del Pueblo by H-TownJourneyman This Northwest side establishment has only one big problem, it is so popular and people enjoy it so much, that is generally packed full of hungry diners. But this problem, if you want to call it that, should clue you in to what a great place this is to eat Tex-Mex food! The restaurant itself is nothing real fancy, simple decor with traditional Mexican items adorning the walls. But the food is delicious! Prepared very fresh, items such as enchiladas, fajitas, tamales, and flautas all have a mouthwatering flavor to them. The margaritas here are some of the best around, but be careful! They are so tasty they can sneak up on you, and before you know it, you might be falling out of your chair! :) The staff is very efficient under the usual busy atmosphere, and are as friendly as can be. And with more than reasonable prices, and an even cheaper lunch menu, you just cant go wrong dining here.
Well, other than the Margaritas of course, they have some great chicken enchiladas here! :) Theme: MexicanPrice: less than US$10 » Currency ConverterComparison: less expensive than averageAddress: 13235 Jones Rd.Phone: 281-970-1600Directions: Located on the Northwest side, near Cypress, on Jones Rd. @ Grant Rd.
