image obtained from internet by John_P_LSU Keep in mind, that the more a place resembles a "dive", the more likely the food is to be authentic. That is not to say a "nice" place will not have great food, but, well, you know.... Leave a Comment Theme: MexicanPrice: less than US$10 » Currency ConverterComparison: less expensive than average

The Becks at Bennigan's by ATXtraveler During a recent trip with my buddies to New Orleans, we stopped in to have dinner with my favorite Best Man's Parents, the Becks. We decided on Bennigan's due to the late timeframe for all of us getting into town. Bennigan's is known for great potato soup, as well as the famous Monte Cristo sandwich. I would also recommend that you look at the Copper Clover club, where you get benefits for trying multiple different types of beers! Leave a Comment

Daily Grill by ATXtraveler One of my favorite mini-chain restaurants in the Daily Grill. Great service, excellent locations, and the biggest and best Cobb Salad I have ever tasted makes me normally break the mold of chain restaurants to enter this one. I would highly recommend making this your choice if you are in the Galleria :)
The Cobb Salad, hands down. Leave a Comment

County Line has a country, diner, cook-out feel. It is very laid back and have always enjoyed the food. You can come here for a laid back date, after a ball game, or with a big group, and find it meets your needs. Taken from their website: For 20 years this fun roadhouse has been tucked away among the tall pines of north Houston. Always a hit with 3 private banquet rooms, exceptional full service catering and on the spot deliveries. Not to mention the Totally Texan dining room complete with a full cowhide covered bar, picturesque backyard Gazebo and a cozy stone patio. Open 7 days a week. Lunch and Dinner There are a few in the area so be sure to check the website for the closest one near you! Picture coming soon...
They have a turkey dish that comes with black pepper on it. It was fantastic. The best BBQ turkey plate I've ever had. I can't get anything other than that! Also, their beef brisket and sausage are fantastic. When Saltgrass first started expanding their franchises I hated steak. Yea, yea, I wasn't even a teenager though. So I started with the kids menu and have worked myself up to the best steak in the place. The restaurant is authentic country Texas. The decor ranges from televisions with the game on, deer heads, bear heads, license plates and other country decor. They have a full bar and eating area. The tables are covered in white linens and the waitors wear tuxedo shirts and long white aprons. I recently went here for my birthday lunch and was surprised to have been given a black napkin and silverware. I think the waitress saw the confusion on my face and said that I was given the black one because my dress pants were black and it was to protect them. Isn't that wonderful? I thought it was very thoughtful of them. There are many restaurants around the city. So, please, use the website and find the one nearest you. I've never been disappointed by one and I've been to quite a few around the state. Pictures to come soon...
The food is delicious!! I would highly recommend the Maudene's Filet. 7oz. is more than enough for me but I believe there is a 10oz. cut as well. It comes with your choice of side (potatoes a few different ways or veggies) along with onion rings on the side. It's soooooo good!!!! When you order a steak you also get a choice of soup or salad. Both are delicious. You get complimentary bread with fantastic tasting butter. So great. When you order tea they bring out your own jar of tea so that you can refill your own glasses. My dad likes that. Theme: SteakhousePrice: US$21-30 » Currency ConverterComparison: more expensive than averageAddress: 17275 Tomball ParkwayPhone: 281/477-0952Directions: Across 249 from the mall. The pizza here is awesome! I especially love the buffet on the weekends when you can taste the variety of pizza they have. One of the best things about this place is they serve beer! That way, if you're with the kids you can let them have fun while also enjoying yourself a bit :) But not too much!! The ambience is very laid back. They have a few video games for the kids. They have nice, big televisions for the sports. The decor is very fun. *This is a chain so make sure to call or visit the website to find the location nearest you. **FYI, I took the pictures really late on a Friday night right before they closed ...
You have to try the pepperoni rolls! They are delicious!!!

After a long hiatas from this restaurant I'm back to being a lover. A lover of the strong margaritas. A lover of the flautas. A lover of the made-in-the-restaurant (in front of the customers) tortillas. A lover of the queso. A lover of the laid back atmosphere...A bit weary of the wait, still. However, I'm gonna keep my original review because it gives an accurate depiction of what your tastes might be. If you don't like to eat in a loud, busy atmosphere this might make a good happy hour place on a weekday. Previous review: I'm a bit weary of this place. I personally feel that the prices do not reflect the taste. However, I'm pretty picky. It's just my opinion that Houston's mexican restaurants are no match for Dallas'. However, a lot of people in Houston prefer Pappacito's. I haven't found anything I like here. The margarita's aren't that good. The atmosphere is not that good. Why am I paying extra to sit in a lawn seat?? No waitor has ever given flour tortillas although they make them right in front of you. It just has always been a let down. Anytime I actually want to try something I get disappointed even more. If you want to try it, no one's gonna stop you. But if I were you I'd find something else. MANY locations throughout Houston so shop around for the one closest to you. Sun -Thurs: 11:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. Fri - Sat: 11:00 a.m. - 11:00 p.m.
I usually just stay with the queso and flautas. Not comparable to other places but I just don't understand what all the hype is about. I can't find anything I enjoy that much. They've just re-opened in a larger spot. They used to be at Kirkwood at Memorial, and closed almost a year ago. We mourned the loss, some of the best, freshest sushi in town. Same sushi chef/owner, as well as several of the wait staff. Both the chef and the hostess shook my hand and said welcome back. They remembered me. A friend and I (both have wives who won't touch sushi) would go about once a month when it was at the previous location. I've been back twice, and the sushi and sashimi are still great. Last time, I had the shrimp tempura Bento box for lunch, and it was really good. One thing, sort of humorous. Most of the lunch specials talk about Nori's Dairy Special side dish. They mean Nori's Daily Special side dish (never had any dairy in the side dishes).
Sushi. Tempura's good, and a number of the rolls are great. They have a great sushi or roll combination for lunch. This was a short interlude in preparation for the long flight home to Edinburgh. I wanted something special but not too costly (don't we all??) to fill my tummy while I waited for the plane. They have a cajun seafood buffetr Monday to Friday 9.30 - 3.00pm. Just my luck that it was on a Saturday!
Had to have the lobster seafood salad. I love the salads in the States, plenty of lettuce etc, and a sizeable portion of lobster and other seafood. Tasty without having to drown it in mayonnaise or tartar sauce. Not cheap at $15.99 but with the refillable soft drink, it came to a nice round $20. Pics to follow. The One Connected to The Galleria by msbrandysue The Cheesecake Factory encompasses it all. It has a fun atmosphere, great bar, chic style, nice waiters, great food, and even better dessert. When you hear the name Cheesecake Factory you may think it's only dessert. Oh my goodness, do not make that mistake! The food is absolutely wonderful. The 27 page menu offers variety upon variety. Anything you want is here. Any type of food is available. And, yes, you have to have some cheesecake. I believe they have over 50 types of cheesecakes with other desserts including cakes and pies. Not in the mood to sit in a nice dining area? Take some to go! You can order any of the food and dessert to go if you would rather relax in your room. Do not miss this place! It's a great date place, as well, if you want a special evening. Again, this is a franchise so there are many restaurants in the area. Check out the store locator on the website to find the one closest to you. However, in Houston I would recommend going to the one in the Woodlands. You can get away from the city and it is set right off of the mall with a nice little lake area around it. It's right beside a Barnes and Noble...so while I wait for the table I go buy a book or two! Monday - Thursday 11:00 am - 11:00 pm Friday & Saturday 11:00 am - 12:30 am Sunday 10:00 am - 11:00 pm
The best appetizer is the avacado eggrolls. I would either order these as a meal, though, or share them with others. My favorite entree is the spicy chicken nachos (which is actually under the 5 page appetizer menu). All the cheesecakes are unbelievable! If you want to order drinks I enjoyed the Mai Tai, and the Godiva Chocolate Martini is strong!
