This tiny Vietnamese restaurant a few minutes south of downtown does a great business during normal business hours of the week. But on Friday and Saturday nights after 2am, this place gets crazy! Wow, what a coincidence that the clubs and bars in Houston shut down at 2am. Hmmmmm?! :) Because of the fact that most of the 11,000 restaurants in town close at 10 or 11pm, people out on the town at night have just a few choices to go have a late night meal. Mai's is a popular choice among Houstonians. But regardless of whether it is 2 in the morning, or 2 in the afternoon, this restaurant serves up some pretty good food. Mostly Vietnamese, they also have some Chinese and Thai dishes on the menu. Great appetizers such as spring rolls. A superb selection of noodle soups. And wonderful seafood, chicken, pork, and vegetarian plates are all on the menu as well. If you like, they also have several combination platters available. Not a fancy restaurant by any means, but a good choice for a late night, or middle of the day meal!
Oh, and a tip, go to their website before you go, they usually have a coupon available. Enjoy!!!
